There was tons of hype around this coming out and now that it's here I can't recommend it to anyone. First off the story, it starts off very serious like you're gonna be facing some new threat and have a whole new campaign to play but very quickly devolves into silly objectives. The gameplay is your standard q2 but with very bad balancing on some of the new enemies. Oh man the music... there's bits and pieces that sound nice but overall most of it feels like you're listening to someone's crappy metal band just jamming, 90% of the time I was thinking to myself this doesn't sound like Quake 1 OR 2 AT ALL!

Truly like a game that could have released back in the day, if you like fallout 1 & 2 you'll probably be at least somewhat at home here. Tons of character customization and ways to play, no handholding, very difficult if you don't think for each encounter.

I thought this was awesome, there is no "invincible" enemies, no endless spawns as long as you complete the new objective based combat it literally warns you about at the start of the addon. Loved working my way through this huge underground complex filled with secrets, puzzles, intense combat situations, and awesome loot. Don't get the single path thing either, there's completely optional areas and objectives to assist in objectives or just find cool stuff. Though admittedly it can be overwhelming at times, it quickly becomes clear you can win every encounter. Absolutely recommended.
