 A week from a Redneck's life: 

Deer Diary: 

Munday: Well, we crash-landed that UFO in the desert and Bubba says he wants to go home. Heck, I don't blame him 'cause there ain't no place like Hickston. But according to my map, we're gonna have to blast our way through jack o' lope farms and a riverboat as well as a brothel (Bubba can't wait) 'fore we get home again. 

Toosday: Met new folks like Daisy Mae (she's purty). Bikers, pigs, cows and jack o' lopes. I think I even saw the King at the Slurp n' Burp. 

Winsday: Yeehaw! Got to joyride in a Swamp Buggy and a motorcycle that were both armed to the teeth. I hope those peoples I ran over will be alrite. I still got a darn jack 'o lope stuck in the grill though. 

Thersday: New ways to destroy stuff! I found over 10 weapons like a crossbow that shoots dynamite-loaded chickens and a slingblade. Mmmm-Hmm! 
Fri-day: Sure am hungry! I just need some good ol' redneck powerups like pork rinds, cow pies and some of my granpappy's moonshine! 
Saterday: Boy I sure so like those toe tapping tunes by that good ol' boy Mojo Nixon. 
Sunday: Heck! With all the new places we been, I sure wish my kinfolk could've come along for the ride!

  • Lowered CD-Audio volume, can be further adjusted in the configuration tool.
  • Removed obligatory setup for Redneck Rampage: Suckin' Grits on Route 66.
  • Adjusted DOSBox config for better performance and sound.
  • Added modern key mapping for WSAD movement.
  • Removed default character movement with mouse.
  • Added gamepad support and mappings.
  • Added Game Configurator tool for easier adjustment of DOSBox settings such as resolution, aspect ratio, shaders, cpu cycles, sound settings (master volume and cd volume), controller scheme, multiplayer configs, mouse sensitivity, screen mode.

"Hold on to yer butt!"

Amazing, classic, action-packed Build-engine powered shooter with a unique charm and sense of humor. One of my all-time favorite PC games in ANY genre! The original game starts with aliens from outer space invading the small backwater town of Hickston to clone it's inhabitants and, in the process, steal Leonard and Bubba's prize pig, Bessie. Subsequent chapters revolve around Leonard and Bubba trying to find their way back home through various locales fighting through old enemies...and a few new ones too! Health kits have been replaced with bags of pork rinds, moon pies, 6-packs of beer, and cheap whiskey. Drinking a bit can steady your aim, but don't drink too much! You'll find it very hard to see, walk straight, and shoot enemies! Taking the occasional leak or screaming "Yeehaw!" restores a little bit of health, and did I mention weapons such as a ripsaw that can bounce circular saws off walls, and a crossbow that fires dynamite and/or chickens?? If you love classic shooters such as Doom, Quake, Rise of the Triad, Dark Forces, Blood, Shadow Warrior, and *especially* Duke Nukem 3D, you will absolutely love Redneck Rampage! I remember back about 10 years ago paying $35 for JUST THE FIRST GAME, and loving it to pieces, and the entire collection of all three games is here for only $5.99!! That's highway robbery! (And yes, it works great in Vista. I just spent the last hour or so playing around with all three games, and have no issues!) As stated before, if you're a classic 90's DOS shooter fan, and don't take the game too seriously, you'll love it. Buy it now!

Excellent

Redneck Rampage is one of my childhood favourites. It had a certain charm that drew you in. Armed with a quirky soundtrack and some hilarious dialogue, this game is nothing less than extremely fun. Fans of Doom, Wolf3D, Quake and Duke Nukem will love this.

Hilarious!

Hilarious first person shooter for anyone, whether you're an old or new school gamer. If you enjoy Quake, Unreal Tournament, or any other mindless frag fest, you'll enjoy Redneck Rampage. While the storyline may ridiculous, it only adds to the comedy factor as you interact with the game. This is a must buy whether you enjoy first person shooters or not - It's not your typical frag fest! "Now we're makin' bacon!"

Awesome service, fun games!

I'm new to this site and I just wanted to say that I'm very happy with the service being offered here. For only 5.99, you get three games with all materials (including PDF manuals) intact plus many extras. Also, unlike for example Steam's version of Quake, this game INCLUDES all the cd-audio tracks so you won't miss out on the cool music they put on the original game cd! The fact that the games being offered on this site are DRM-free is a huge plus as well, and the prizes are more than fair. Terrific service, thanks GOG.com! I'll most certainly be back for more! Side note: Oh, and yes, the games run in a pre-configured DOSBox wrapper. I don't see why this seems to upset another reviewer. DOSBox is a wonderful tool that runs older games on modern systems almost flawlessly and you can actually choose during installation whether you wish to install it or not. So what's up with the complaining?

So Many Memories

When I was in High School the tech guy knew absolutely nothing about fixing computers. He had been the shop teacher before and took the new job only because no one else would. My buddies and me would do all his work and in return we would get to skip a few classes, lock the doors to a vacant computer lab, set up 4 projectors, and play Redneck Rampage multiplayer on all 4 walls. Good Times
