This game seems not complete, AI is not good and campaign seems just a long tutorial, where you have to do "exactly" what the game tells you, giving almost no freedom on how to beat the levels... The comparison with the FREE game "Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy" are needed: - Attack-Move on STTA = Troopers automatically shoot and take distance from enemies - Attack-Move on STTC = Troopers randomly shoots (or not) and just run INSIDE the group of enemies, if they don't stopped moving before, without reason - Missions on STTA = Survived units are kept for the entire campaign, they level up until they can obtain useful skills and gears (like exosuits), you can't have them replaced on the field, so they are really precious. A mission starts with a landing and ends with a landing. - Missions on STTC = Every mission is stand-alone, you can have a finite number of units, but can replace them an infinite number of times. Units can obtain a skill that is almost not useful at all, because must be manually launched and it's difficult to select the units singularly, also most of the time, units just die before you even find the time to upgrade them. - Bug Holes on STTA = Shoot everything at them to destroy. Enemies run to them to call for reinforcements. If you kill the "guards" first, you can close a hole without a fight. - Bug Holes on STTC = Only some can be shooted down. The Hive instead must be closed thanks only to specific classes of troopers, and only when all the alternate exit holes have stopped sending bugs at you... if you don't have the right class to enter the Hive (if they killed it) most probably all your other troopers will die fast too, and you'll have to try again after waiting the recall of a new group of units. STTC could really have been an improvement over STTA, but right now is absolutely not like this, is an inferior game, and overpriced too. I really hope they are still working on this anyway, because it has potential.
This game deserve all the money spent on it. Most DLCs are just added weapons or shirts, but with this version you'll have a complete package, including the Hellraid, that is a cool addition for the ones who likes fighting. It is both a "story driven" game, and a "do what you want" open world game. "The Following" is as long as the main game and with a different kind of play because the added car is almost always needed to go around. There are a lot of different kind of "games" included in the main game and in the DLCs: running challenges, drive challenges, fighting challenges, etc... Parkour and fighting are really well made and it is a pleasure to run around the map even just for exploration. Almost every kind of weapon is present, from hand to hand, to melee, to guns, to explosive things, etc...
If you never played the first one, you just have to know that this is a game that could be played for just 2 minutes during lunch break, or for an entire day non stop if you are for this kind of things. You will feel the need to improve, because it will make you feel like a super warrior with spectacular moves even if you are just using 2 fingers. The price is super low compared to the offered lenght of the game (potentially infinite) and the contents. So, JUST BUY IT. If insted you already played the first one, just know that I can't say this is better... but neither I can say that it is worse... it is just different. One of the most useful improvement is the timing after events, in fact, in the first game, grabbing stuff/cinematic moves/brawler fights were able to ruin your flow making you miss a hit after them, but in this game, you'll have no issues with them. On the other side, it lost some "ancient china" feel... now there are guns, and no different random fighting styles at every play... But there is too much to say to compare the 2 games... so... JUST BUY IT.
This game is beautiful... the colors, the explosions, the ships, and also the creatures, if you get the DLC. The enemies are not dumb at all !! The AI is very well made, and different between enemies. A drone will attack directly without avoiding fire, but a ship will evade a lot and will always search to get your back. Enemy ships firepower/resistance will almost match (or surpass) the one of yours. This and the fact that you will be always outnumbered is what makes the game difficult (and rewarding). You WILL die. Losing every material and things you collected/constructed during the session, BUT you can still spend your money for upgrades that will stay there forever, making your next play easier. (A very similar concept that is in the game Risk of Rain) Your fist play sessions will be of like 5/10 minutes, but after some deaths will become even 70 mins and more. Also every time you'll reach a new sector, a part of the story becomes clear... even the reason why you remember all your deaths...
