Stellar Tactics

abandonware

last patch was in 2021 - not a peep since then, not likely to get anything else now i really love the premisses of the game, they HAD some very good ideas and reasonably solid gameplay with minor issues - had they kept working on it this would be a solid 4/5 stars but the content in the game right now is a 2 or 2.5 out of 5

Ozymandias: Bronze Age Empire Sim - Deluxe Edition

simple but overall disapointing

its a simple game, with simple mechanics... but its maps are tiny, there are nothing to the game outside of the basics, in the end, it is just disapointing

Cyberpunk 2077

a delayed game is eventually good...

so it has been a long time since it was released and today i wanted to see if it would be as great as i hoped it could be... well i got 5 minutes into the game before it crashed... and i have yet to get much further than the car ride back from the start mission... now i am not a super fan of cyberpunk but i still enjoy it (so much prefer space/science, steam and diesel punk to it) and i love the adult parts it offers... if i could get to that it might have become something like the skyrim adult experience but... this game and development really tanks their reputation and deservedly so, corporate really fucked up on this, the devs told them it wasn't ready, the QA probably screamed it every day but ooooooh no, gotta be grabbing the loot early sooooooo... honestly, this could very much become a 5 star game some day, it has the bling bling and juicy setting for it... or at least it seems so to me, fuck if i know as i have yet to get much further than the car ride back from the starter mission...

Baldur's Gate 3

flawed so far

honestly, i gave it two stars because the graphics, atmosphere and battlefield interactions are actually pretty good... the plot and story is about as far from interesting as to be the opposite of it... starts off with action video galore, zoooom zooom, zap zap zap, booom! brain eating monsters, dragons, demons!!! WOooooo!?!? super action galore indeed... and then the game starts... and you are doing tedious point and click investigations, then on to some fluff, encountering the gith, killing some demons in slow paced turn based combat... do your actions, move, end your turn, wait, wait, wait, wait, see some numbers change, wait, wait a bit more, then it is your turn again, zap an enemy and move a bit, rince and repeat until the encounter is finished. this entire first chapter in the game could easily have been cut down to a single room where you can talk to the gith and release the cleric and then have a big explosion and crash and then start the game for real with whatever it is you are supposed to do other than get the brain eating bug out of your head... as the entire ship scene is so jarringly atonal from the setup that you could easily have clown music and a laugh track running on repeat benny hill style and it would actually improve it massively... and then comes the rest of the game and i have not even gotten off the ship yet as the coop is so bugged we quit trying at the boss fight with the infernal and the brain eating mindflayer... while they can fix the bugs and i expect them to do so soon enough, they seem unable to find the talent to make an interesting or engaging story to the point i wished they would just have started the game in a stereotypical tavern on a boring ass generic quest, it would at least not be so jarring and a bit more in the style of baldurs gate (of which i have yet to even see any of)

Stoneshard

avoid it like the plague for now

this would have been a 5 star, however the save function is missing so you lose all your progress if you exit before you reach a save point which so happens to NOT be shown anywhere leading to a lot of frustrations

Pathway

fun for a while but...

this game hits the indiana jones style adventure games with excellence... but... this game is fun for a while, it has a story and style very similar to indiana jones meet call of ketchupolu(find your own dang spelling for that =P ) but it focuses primarily just on combat and that is where the game is NOT shining, while similar to many other in the same tactical genre the base system fails hard when it comes to the use of "special" abilities (why the f are they made like that???) which costs bravery (a character resource) which borks the game and brings me completely out of the game and setting to just a mechanical gimping runabout... you have some interesting characters but no ability to interact with them in any way, they bring their stats and skills to the game but that is it... dead husks with no life the list of enemies in the early game is okay, nazi's and zombies get dull after a while and their upgraded versions isn't terribly interesting either... would recommend this if you are an rpg fan looking for something to play during a break, very similar to desktop adventures... and honestly right now i would recommend that over this game.

Master of Orion

if graphics was all it took...

If graphics was all it took to make a game great, this game would probably be great, i played it a bit when it got into beta and i really hoped they could get their act together later as it got a lot of serious charm from the different races, the gnn and a lot of other, the music is decent and the game does have a very charming feel overall to it... but what ever happened to make the original two great games was discarded for this game, introducing hyperlanes as the "only" way to get around narrows the strategic options down in a serious clusterfuck attritional warfare without any of the options in the first two great games, no longer are there any hard choices to be made in research or how each race can focus on different aspects to suit their own playstyles and give some actual choices, making every race feel the exact same, play the same and feel the same despite any bonus or malus they have from the race setup. i would write more but this game does not deserve it, this game feels like it killed the originals, only to wear their corpses and walk around like a zombie on crack without any of the aspects that made the much better games better games
