It's very fun and everything other reviewers praise Except after like 3rd time I die on level 6-7 (char level 12) I feel discouraged to start from lvl1 again OK now to rift, now to spaceport, yaddayadda F - F - F - F... To die again. Mechanics are not variative enough to keep my interest
This is pure gem of same genre as Beginner's Guide and Stanley Parable Except pixelated, mixes more genres and even funnier
You can't play on normal before you complete whole game on tutorial complexity. Which is very slow steamrolling with zero challenge. It took me like 8 hours to get to last level All this painful grinding for normal mode to unlock If it was Steam I would refund
But balance is very off. Restarted on Hard and the battles become too easy by deployment 12-13 All in all a very solid WH40K title
I'm a big fan of BG 1/2 and Pillars of Eternity Pathfinder is OK. Combat mechanics and tabletop rules conversion are good. But the writing is cringey and voiceover simply hurts. I know it's high fantasy and dialogues are supposed to be silly and characters are supposed to be exaggerated But in P:K it is somehow done in a way that simply doesn't work. Amateurish. Lame. 3/5 for overall effort
Solid 4/5 Dialogues and voices are subpar, General writing a world details are solid
I think I got it via GOG connect, played on steam But be sure to check reviews and forums first, maybe steam version is fuller
The art style is fantastic (I recommend play on LCD display setting) The story, acting and writing are fantastic The gameplay mechanic itself is first one ever to make me feel like I'm actually an investigator. Took me several evening to beat - about 12 hours total, but I say it was worth every cent
Even more naive characters and simplistic plot All in all enjoyable, but meh
