Amazing voice acting, interesting narrative and unique interaction/gameplay. No fail state, just enjoy going through people's underwear draw. The story takes some twists and turns, 2 hours to complete. Highly recommended if you like this sort of thing.
Nice improvements from DK 1. The interface isn't perfect, it and the graphics are the only thing that knock 1 star off, but given the age it's certainly appropriate. Description is 'as is'. The game does what it intended to do but I found it less punishing yet more enjoyable than DK1. Highly recommended
Read the manual (or online FAQ's, it's just too hard otherwise) Cheats work, just make sure you type them in and PRESS ENTER ... BEFORE you start the game. so press PLAY GAME, in the setup screen type your code, press enter, you hear a chime. THEN- and here's the important part. Once you start the game you MUST press the letter 'C' just a lower case c will do. A plus sign (+) will appear next to the date, then you're all good to go. Can turn off angry tenants and get unlimited money for eg. Oh and last piece of advice: Get one repair man per block, will save your life!
Got it recently and played through both games on Steam. First (main game) is good, but Forged alliance improves everything. I loved Total annihilation in the day, but doubt I can go back after seeing this basically improve every single aspect of it.
New team to play as, new campaign. I finished the main game without a problem but had to use cheats to get past a few levels, but it wasn't too bad in the last few episodes. If you liked the main game, you'll like this. Here's a link to a 'trainer' if you need cheats. Works well, easy to install. https://mrantifun.net/threads/dungeons-2-trainer.4258/
This game sucks, I'm going to stop playing right now... but maybe if I just build a tunnel, I can open up a whole new valley, but then I'll need a new market, and school and six houses. Well, maybe just one more season, get my farms up, that way I know there's definitely enough food production and then... oh my gawd it's been two weeks! I need to stop, please help me stop playing naghhhhhhhhh!
Imagine an easier Dungeon Keeper but with updated graphics, more comedy and you can go up to the surface for real-time strategy elements. That's it... More features doesn't mean better mind you, the interface is a bit clunky at times. Some lag as well, but nothing game breaking. Definitely had fun with it though. Recommended.
Good package overall. I played Doom 3 BFG twice loved it, then played the original Doom 3. I much prefer the original, however playing BFG first, I enjoyed it. Changes to the light/torch are part of it but not the whole story. The gameplay is subtly changed. Basically, this is good, but the original is better.
Context: I played Doom 3 first, then went back to this game. If that's you, this info will be useful. Imagine Doom3 except that the graphics are 1 grade lower, the horror gameplay (ie slower and more methodical and things jumping out of cupboards) is 2 grades lower, and the gameplay is cranked up to be much more of a traditional shooter (ie fast and satisfying gunplay) then that's what Quake 4 is. So, Doom 3 but faster? Kind of. There is still very much a 'horror' environment, some rather gruesome stuff, very well executed. But the gameplay is more of a shooter. So instead of moving from one section of the facility to another via a cutscene, you run outside and get into a tank or mech and shoot stuff. You even get a scene where you are shot into the enemy base in a landing vehicle (cutscene) but it's very impressive for the day. Also, you often have squadmates. So you get a sense of being a part of a major military operation, which is exactly what Quake 2 was all about. Therefore, whilst I would say I really enjoyed both this game and Doom3, Doom 3 was a poor sequel, in that it deviated too much from the source. Whereas Quake 4 really expanded on what Quake 2 had done before. If you can get past the aged graphics, I would say definitely give this a go, very underrated.
