Monster Train

Great Rougelike

The only rougelike i actually like better than this would be Slay the Spire. These are the 2 games I always come back to.

Slay the Spire

time sink

you could probably get hundreds of hours out of this game. One of the best values in the store.

SOMA

Doesn't run..

Crashes directly after the first phone call, 4 minutes into the game. Hard to judge a game on the first 4 minutes, that's all i am getting from this title.

ENDLESS™ Space 2

way too obtuse for me..

I like things with some logic, not made up obtuse mathematics, this game is definitely not for me. If you like things that make no sense maybe it is for you... but i doubt it.

ENDLESS™ Space - Definitive Edition

Obtuse Garbage

Game makes no damn sense.. no logic behind it it seems, gave up in 10 minutes of looking at it trying to figure the basics out.. seems like they rewrote the 4x formula or something, after 10 minutes I am done with it.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Deluxe Edition

thank god i got this on sale..

I played the Sinking city, I liked it, then i bought the sherlock holmes series from the same developer and now i know, they didn't have a grasp on what they were doing until they did the sinking city, so far every sherlock holmes game i have tried out has been the kind of game you MUST play with a GUIDE, which SUCKs in my opinion. This title, just like the rest from frogwares dealing with "sherlock Holmes" is a disaster. In real life even if you have different conclusions you can still come to a correct result, but not in this game, it doesn't happen here. I wish i never bought into this sherlock holmes BULLSHIT, and thats what it is is BULLSHIT. even this one unrushed by the war, (unlike the remastering of "the awakened" is the same, so obviously it isn't from the rush, it is just bad direction.

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened

garbage,,

when you give the wrong answer for anything you seem to get severly punished for it, kind of a shitty idea really, unless absolute perfection is your goal (which is impossible). I think the old version is just as good as the new one, which is not good at all (and I am a HP lovecraft Fan). really wanted to enjoy it but i really just can't. and yes i know they did it in a rush to support themselves during the war but i feel robbed still. the restrictions on words for a "title" of a review are obstructing giving reviews actually, GOG needs to fix that, otherwise i woul;d have called this something else but i am restricted from doing so..

Stellaris

Good game but..

I really don't like the idea of paying 15 or 20 $ for a 6 meg "expansion" pack.. not much of an expansion at that point, the game is horrendously overpriced BUT it IS a fun game. There are tons of mechanics to learn about and it is very detailed. I wanted to see this as a spiritual successor too MOO2 but it just can't compare as the dev team behind MOO2 wasn't trying to break us financially. For the Entire game (all DLC included i paid probably 130$.. that is just not realistic IMO. Great game, marred by greed. I looked at it for over a year before buying, wish I kept looking, BUT.. I DO enjoy the game.

Sherlock Holmes: Secret of the Silver Earring

the bar at the bottom of the screen..

it keeps you from being able to move, there is no list of the controls, I don't know how i got it to come up, I don't know how to get it to go away, within 12 minutes the game is ruined by the bar.. it is rather clunky, it's age shows pretty readily. I want to like it but the bar and lack of details on keybindings has ruined the experience.

The Sinking City Remastered

Descent game..

I think Anarion321 got it about spot on, BUT.. the thing for me was this game got me into the whole detective gaming genre.. I have always been a H.P. Lovecraft fan (I am 53 today) and I have been gaming on PCs since the 80's. The game could be improved upon but i think they did a pretty good job, after all.. they had to create a whole new environment (setting) which is probably good.. H.P.. Lovecraft had drawings of the places he described in his books but they are all rather small so this was a good way of dealing with that. Alot of the buildings are just copied and pasted and then edited, places seem familiar often. The cognition parts are too easy, walk around and wait for the elliptical waves to show up, it was a little bit over simplified, but still not bad. pretty entertaining all in all.
