At least it's not another apocalypse and the new shroud and psionic ideas are good too bad they can't be modded since they apparently have been implemented a new... special way. And of course typically paradox the document NOTHING for their modders.
While the new ideas are ok the execution absolutely isn't. Don't buy this until maybe 2-3 years down the line when you can get it for 2-3€ in a sale. Maybe until then they have fixed the bugs. Where do I even start: - Permanently blinking notifications on map (even after dismissal) - New pop system with 0 explainers - Unempoyment doesn't work anymore. - Resettlement doesn't show unemployment. - New buildings with old artwork - upkeep bugs - and many many many more.
Especially the Songs for each mission a pretty neat. Not the best music you've ever heard but decent. And very fitting to the setting. The campaings however are cripplingly short. What is there is good but the story feels at best started. This whole game seems like a 1st act to something.
Another painful reminder that "released" doesn't mean done, or finished anymore. The quality is decidedly early access. Another good title would be "Loading Screens - The Game". It takes two loading screens and 3 button presses ~ 10 seconds of your time just to go from travel map to encounter. Encounters are short, fun and inovative. Sadly nobody was around to explain dark souls/ rouge lites to the devs as death gives you absolutely squat. I could go on but seriously... just don't. Wait for a 5€ sale. Thats the right price.
The game is janky as hell. After trying to rebind keys I can't even move my character anymore. The controle scemes are from bonkersville. Oh and did I mention it runs like crap? Without Vsync but frame limit set to refresh it becomes a tearing fest as soon as you move the camera.
Gameplay or freedom don't exist anymore. Skill system is now nothing more than a pre packaged tour with prebaked finishers. Mix and match from different skill trees? Dead. Story is decent if still filled with complete naivete and stupidity on every corner. It wants to be Cyber Bond so bad it's in danger of another stroke. I really think I'll be rolling back to 1.63 and stay there.
The DnD World really brings a lo of flavor but I do have to add that I'm not really happy with the amount of false goals and railroading. Where I playing this campaign on a Table I'd have reached across to table to have an honest chat with the GM after at most 10h. But then again writing said about a non-adaptive work is a compliment on its own.
