Clearly this game is inspired and a rip off from Dungeon Keeper, yet doesn't bother to endorse or mention it anywhere in it's description. Game can be completed within 8 hours if you know what your doing and offers no replay ability or customisation. All rooms and dungeons end up looking the same, gets boring quite quickly. I'd suggest people go play Anno 1404 if you want a decent building and management SIM. Or go play Overlords.
I've been gaming for around 30 years now since the late 80's, played most RPG's worthy of note, on many different platforms and machines. This is in my top 5 games of all time. Everything is absolutely spot on for this game, the story, music, ambience, characters, RPG elements (DND ruleset) - Character customisation and progression, really flexible character builder. Tons of quests, NPC's actually come up to your character and offer you quests, most games these days do not have that feature. Most games will have static NPC's that you have to hunt down. This game has real life as you walk around the cities and hear the hustle & bustle, people walking up to you either to give information, give a quest, rob your party and attack you, or maybe assassins sent by the main antagonist? You never really know what's going to happen and there's a sense of vulnerability within your party, even a fully outfitted party can have trouble, especially early in the game. Progression and learning new abilities and spells feels really rewarding, including the sheer amount of cool loot in the game. Even right at the start you will find cool and interesting items you can equip your characters, giving the gameplay and combat a dynamic and interesting feel. The game really shines with the story and will keep you wanting more. It's hard to explain without giving the game a good go, anyone who has said 'it didn't interest them' are usually people who only played for about an hour, you have to play it and get out the first dungeon, then travel around a bit, especially through the main big city, 'Amn'.
The fact that in the 'only' video they have of the game, shows some really lazy, marketing video that doesn't showcase *anything* about the game.. You'd have to be mad to hit the buy button. At least show the gameplay and game.. Is the game really that terrible that they don't include any footage in the video? It looks bland, zoomed in, generic RPG wanna-be. Here's some free advice: Go buy Baldurs Gate 2 Enhanced Edition
Me and my son love playing fighting games together, Streets of Rage 4 was easily the best we've ever played. Especially with the new DLC and unlockable(s). This game has horrendous graphics, totally under balanced (basic) mechanics and over powered bosses. The fighting itself is really jarringly bad, bad animations, basically hardly any special moves or combos. Three characters to choose from, what a joke. Streets of Rage 4 has like 40/50 characters and they are all unique in their own way. This game has hardly any modes, just really story.. SOR4 has LOTS of modes. If you want a good fighting game do NOT disappoint yourself with this, it's absolute RUBBISH
Take this from a Seven Kingdoms gamer over the course of the last 25 years.. There are currently 3 versions of seven kingdoms: - Seven Kingdoms (original version & Unbroken A.I version) - Seven Kingdoms Ancient Adversaries (BROKEN A.I & More cultures) - Open Source Seven Kingdoms (Ancient Adverseries, With the same Broken A.I) Get the original version (you might have to purchase the CD) unless you can find a digital download somewhere. The extra races you get with Ancient Adversaries aren't worth it. As the A.I has major bugs and is completely ineffective most of the time. Something happened when they released that expansion and they effected the A.I in a negative way. They have tried to fix / enhance the A.I with the open source version but they have made it far worse, I've ran many game tests end-end with 7 kingdoms on a large map.. The A.I always collapses in on their own economy. In the ORIGINAL Seven Kingdoms version (before Ancient Adversaries) - The A.I builds much more efficiently, quicker.. They are much more effective and sneaky with spies, providing a much greater challenge. They don't randomly go to war because they always generate a shortage of food either, unlike they expansion and open source version. This game is all about the A.I, unless you're looking to only play multiplayer (I doubt it) If multiplayer is your thing, go for the open source version.
I really wanted to like this game but the constant unforgiving nature of the game really sets itself back. The artwork and presentation & animations are really nice. However the issue lies in the actual main feature of the game (card tricks) You have to follow a set procedure (which varies depending on what location you travel to) If you deviate (even slightly) from this set procedure you will just lose. If you are like me and like to play games on hardcore/ironman mode, then you will not last long. It's kind of a pointless feature ironman mode as even early into the game you will just get killed for not being 'perfect' One point in the game I completed the card 'scenario' just about.. Yet the NPC's still shot me and me companion. It's part of the game you get captured and have a gun to your head. Then you have to do a bunch of stupid minigames to try and stay alive. Even after completing these mini games, you're killed for no reason at all. I'd avoid this it's just not fun, you earn money for doing levels, but you cant do anything with the money other than donate it all to the caravan people.. It feels all a bit pointless and none of the characters you ever care about..
It's a pretty hardcore survival game, initially you will struggle, a lot. But when you hire a companion and have two of you, the game becomes much easier. Always keep someone around to pickup your character(s) when they go down. If you are playing with just one character, when you fall in combat no one is going to save you and you'll just bleed out and die. The trick is to getting 2, 3, 4 characters on the go as soon as you can then pretty much it's hard to lose. After my 3rd playthrough I now have a full squad of ninjas and bulls and dogs and can take on the Holy empire paladins quite easily.
It's clear these guys have tried to mimic final fantasy, and fallen so incredibly short. Even the music and combat style felt a lot like FF7, but not in a good way. Honestly FF7 is one of the best games ever made, I really can't believe this company has the stones to try and mimic one of the greatest RPG's of all time.. Get your own ideas!
Another game in this industry that just makes everyone lose even more faith in developers and even Indie developers. I've played the binding of Isaac due to it being different and entertaining for my 22 year old, we finished it together. But in a world of failed releases, disappointment's like Cyberpunk and an already collapsing society, we need good strong titles that can bring people together, get people interested or just restore some faith in the industry. This game definitely does none of those.
