I can't believe how bad this is, from graphics, to interface, the tutorial was really janky and unhelpful. First mission you get killed because you have no idea what's going on or where to go and are immediately swamped with enemies. With no equipment or medical stuff, the game will just kill you. Your also outnumbered 3-1 at the start. Avoid this at all costs, it's nothing like the Jagged Alliance games (thankfully) Frustrating, ear bleeding music really gets annoying fast, it's totally out of place with the theme of the game. Absolutely nothing to like about this game..
Why is every game trying to now copy Sid Meir's winning formula. Can't games get their own ideas? The primitive graphics are hard to beat after playing games like CIV IV.. A.I stumbles around unless on the hardest difficulty, doesn't offer anything new that hasn't been done a thousand times before.
It seemed interesting until you realise the game is about 'zombies' Oh boy! We've never seen that before in a video game, have we? Enemies appear to be complete bullet sponges, gameplay and mechanics are very one-dimensional and doesn't offer anything we haven't already seen a million times before.
This isn't an RPG it's just a series of cutscenes on a mini map. Waste of time and money..avoid at all costs! Why is gog releasing such trash these days? Seems like it's quantity over quality. I prefer this site when it was 'good' 'old' games..Not any old game...
I loved this game up until the end of the campaign. The last mission is time-based and clearly broken. The graphics and presentation & pacing are fantastic, but the campaign is way too short and the last mission has some serious mechanical issues. It's worth a shot, but grab it on sale!
It's effectively a turn based shooter on a chess board, nothing to do with the great game of chess and I strongly dislike it when these types of games make a mockery of a game that actually takes skill and training. There's no way this is worth £7 either, there's far better indie games with a vast amount of content for similar prices, this is repetitive and really offers nothing new or innovative to this gaming category.
🔎 Outdated review posted during the Early Access. Full release experience may vary - GOG Staff In a market that is now saturated with these turn based strategy games, I doubt this will prove to be anything we haven't already seen a million times before. It looks t have pretty dated visuals, boring combat mechanics + also it seems to be trying to copy some might and magic mechanics, though I doubt it does even half as good a job.
