An epic tour de force. Similar to Homeworld, Nexus has a very long and engaging campaign. It is a tactical combat fleet simulator. The combat is cinematic and glorious even today. Great graphics that have held up. Best of all you don't need a high end machine. I play it on newer machines as well as on a three year old Lenovo 730 Yoga and it runs great. A wonderful game.
Before there the Wargame series, no other titles captured modern war scenarios or fun campaigns like People's General. The apex of the Five Star series. A wonderful game that still plays great.
I own this on disks and got it working on an old Win 7 gaming laptop I keep around for old games. What surprise to find this in 2020 on GOG and it works perfectly on my Win 10 brand new gaming laptop! The game is as close to Total War Warhammer before that masterpiece was created. Although mostly linear, it is a blast. Think Dark Omen and Shadow of the Hornet Rat more than Total War, nevertheless a vastly underrated masterpiece.
Great game, unfortunately GOG hasn't fixed it to play on Windows 7 and newer systems. Disastrous release for GOG with seemingly no follow up support. Very disappointed.
An incredible, epic game. Superb story and gameplay. The nuances and depth are beyond compare. Just recently picked it Up. How did I miss this? Superb, challenging and a vision !
