Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition

Point of the review: it works for me

So, first of all, about the game itself: It's fun, it's nice to play (though you'll definitely feel more comfortable with a gamepad than MKB), the characters are different, all with their own style of play. The story isn't the best among the 5 Devil May Cry games that currently exist, but it's OK enough. Plus, it has my favorite design for Dante. The most damning negative about the game is repetition of content. You will traverse the same zones and fight the same areas twice. Sure, it's going to be with different characters, but still. And now for the point of the review. I see a bunch of comments saying that it doesn't work for them and to that I say that it works fine on my PC from 2015 with Win10 on it.

Cyberpunk 2077

Post Patch 1.6 Review

Never played the unpatched version and this was my first time venturing into the Night City. Pros: - It plays nice. It just feels good to fight, hack, sneak and do missions. - Non Main Quests are either fun, have good plotlines/stories, or both. You'll get to do a lot of things, from helping a dude whose cyber penis is glitching to fix it and helping a bartender to win a bunch of street races, to helping a rockstar find his groove back, helping one of the few good cops to save his nephew from a kidnapper, or helping an AI to deal with his "children" acting up. - All builds work. You want a hacker gunslinger? You can be one. You want to be a fist-puncher ninja? You can. Katana/Shotgun wielder? Sure. Cons: - Still quite a few glitches. Nothing particularly gamebreaking, but a lot of unpleasant ones, like suddenly not being able to hack because your hacking menu just not popping out (reloading helps). - Vehicles are unpleasant to control. - Bosses don't scale with your level, so if you are level 50 (maximum), then one of the Night City's legends, who serves as a final boss, will be killed by you in a matter of a few moments. Neither pros nor cons: - Main story is not bad, but not special either. Quite a few good moments, but side quests outshine it. - Game has a crafting system, but it is locked by otherwise the most useless stat and you'll have to either pump it or never see a few powerful weapons. And no, there are no "blacksmiths" whom you can pay to do it for you. But you can upgrade the weapons that you get from drops and as quest rewards. Overall: A great game brought down by execution. A solid 3.5/5 game, but I am bumping the score to 4 because I've genuinely had fun with it and because there is still time to fix what's broken.

Regalia - Royal Edition

A rather nice game.

It is a simple, well-made, tactical turn-based RPG with a lot of things going for it. Good gameplay and RPG elements, good artstyle, interesting characters, interesting story and really good voice acting. I'd say that there are only two noticeable problems: unskipable cutscenes and some fights were, in my opinion, harder, more annoying than they needed to be. But overall, it is a solid game which I can wholehesrtedly recommend.

Torment: Tides of Numenera

Good RPG with an engaging story

A solid RPG with a good story and interesting world. Ther story is (obviously) not as good as that of Planescape: Torment, but is still rather well made and is certainly better than overwhelming majority of those that we see on the market.

Planescape: Torment

One of the best stories in RPGs.

I've heard a lot about this game and it was the primary reason I actually got a GOG account. You play as amnesiac The Nameless One (TNO for short), who wakes up in a mortuary of Sigil - The City of Doors, which serves as a crossroad between different dimensions. As TNO, your primary goal is to recover your memories, and to find the answer to a question "What can change the nature of a man?". On this journey you can speak to personification of "O" (as in letter), let old lady find treasures in your guts, help a street to give birth, visit "The Brothel of Intellectual Lusts" and many other weird things. The list of possible companions contains the cast of the most interesting NPC's in my gaming experience: a flying skull (who serves as your primary fighter), a succubus who abandoned her ways and is now a prim-and-proper proprietor of aforementioned brothel, and also paladin of Justice so twisted by his sense of justice that it is not quite easy to understand whether he is force of good or evil. The story itself is, as mentioned in title of this review, is one of the best I've had joy to experience. The problem is that if I were to mention anything here it would be quite a spoiler. But I urge you to experience it if you like good stories with interesting twists and turns. Unfortunately, I can't give it a 5/5 rating. Two reasons for it: 1. The battles in this game are either too easy or simply boring, with one optional boss fight being a huge leap in difficulty. 2. While the game provides you with an option to learn to use all three classic classes Fighter, Mage, Thief) and an option to switch them by talking to certain companions, in order to get the best stats to experience story to its fulles you will have to focus on being Mage most of the time. That being said, despite those two problems, the game is one of the best I've ever played and if you can, please do buy it and journey through The City of Doors.
