Heretic + Hexen

My Favorite FPS of all time

Heretic=D&D + DOOM! Pure fun and adventure.

Reality Break

Outstanding, creative ARPG

First off, this game is FUN! Fast, responsive controls, good loot, lots of fun battles, random "dungeons (sectors) an interesting story idea that ACTUALLY is integral to the gameplay and a TON of polish all made by a single dev. Just everything you want in an ARPG with some fun new systems added. SO WORTH PLAYING! NOTE: Some people are surprised by the "event" that happens at Outpost 6. This is a KEY part of the gameplay and it opens up the door to SO much more diversity of build and play options moving forward from that point. That "event" is at the heart of the game. Just go with it and see what you think as you move on after that event.

The Last Spell

Fun, thematic and new

Aside from the theme being interesting, the turn-based combat is highly tactical without being cumbersome. Deciding who goes when and what they do with their action points, as you can bounce between your heroes alternating actions can make a difference between life and death. Synergies, random loot, level progression and managing your action, mana and movement points all play a role in every move. Fun game!

Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood

Fun and stands on its own

This is not a VS reskin or a beautifully licensed knock-off. Renfield is a really fun game that anyone familiar with the 'survivors' genre will likely enjoy and appreciate the things that it does differently from others in the field. The start is pretty difficult, and the progress seems a bit slower than VS (for example) but the amount of unlocks, builds, cosmetics, arenas, weapon combos and hidden bits is right up there with the best in the genre. Familiarity with the movie is not needed at all, but if you are a fan, then this game is FAT PACKED with fan service as well. Just a really fun, pretty, enjoyable distillation of the action RPG and I recommend giving it a try.

Inferno - Beyond the 7th Circle

Unique, dark, fun

Dark, ambitious and unique entry to the genre. A fun, entertaining adventure created by a single dev with an interesting take on combat, spell-casting and skilling up in a first person cRPG. WELL worth giving it a couple hours in the demo to see what you think or if the gameplay looks fun, just jump in and enjoy the demonic apocalypse!

DREDGE

Sometimes a trawler isn't a trawler...

Absolutely wonderful game. Great design, UI and clear art make the barrier to play this low, but the gameplay keeps the satisfaction and engagement high. The music is perfect, evocative and menacing in a bucolic way (is that possible?). Entertaining and weird(tales) writing. Sometimes the fishing is like being in the U.P. ans sometimes it's like fishing on the lake of Hali in Carcosa, but either way, it is ALWAYS fun and rewarding. Cosmic horror and fishing have been tied together sine the 1920's so I can't beleive this simple, great idea for a game hasn't happened before now, but I'm glad somebody thought of it! The devs have nailed it right out of the dock. Worth the full price, no doubt! Excellent game.

Butcher

Difficult but spot on

I suck as platformers but am pretty solid at twin-stick shooters. Somewhere in the middle of those two and my love for old-school shooters I am making my way through this aptly-named game. Fun but tough as hell. Demands that you 'get gud'.

BUTCHER - Extended Soundtrack

Good OST

Rockin. Fits the game well. Worth it if you like the game and the music obviously.

X-Morph: Defense Complete Edition

Enjoyable, polished Tower-defense/ShMUp

The Short: This time YOU play the alien invaders defending your Earth-mining 'core' from advanced human military forces in this near-perfect blend of tower defense and ShMUp. With fast, intuitive controls & AI, responsive ShMUp combat and strategic tower placement and path-manipulation winning or losing is all in your alien cyber-tendrils. Bullet Point Review - Fun. Crazy fun. - TD has logical, helpful upgrading and tech tree options without being nitpicky and overly-granular - ShMUp combat is fast and responsive. - WASD and mouse pair nicely for both modes; TD building and ShMUp combat. Neither feels 'tacked on'. - Default keybindings are logical and easily reached with you left hand; freeing your right to unload hell or build you defenses as needed. - Solid, driving music without being overbearing - Local Co-Op! - Skirmish/survival mode! - Plenty of missions and fairly priced DLC is you want more. VERDICT: If you like what you see in the trailer, buy it. X-Morph: Defense delivers. Here's hoping for this game to expand into a series.
