Excellent For a Flash Game

But wait... It is a full flade adventure title for 7.99$... Wait... What? No point in doing my regular format about the good, the bad and the ugly stuff of the game because there is very little to review here. This is a simplistic adventure game that looks and feels like a flash game from newgrounds website. Want to play similar to this game but free adventure games? Go to http://www.newgrounds.com/games/browse/tag/quest/min_score/0#sort:views The game is mega-simple and quick to end. I believe it is only suits little children which would like to try adventure games. Avoid investing money on it. Unfortunately even 1$ is too much to pay for what you get.

Lilly Looking Through

Very Short, Boring, Repetitive And Easy

I would usually do my "Good, bad and Ugly" sections review but there is no point. The title sums it all up + Every other reviewer writes the same thing because it is impossible to write anything else about this "Game" (!?). Buy only if it costs around 1$ and only if you want to introduce your small kid to adventure games. Small children might like it. I think (Untested theory lol).

PixelJunk Monsters HD

Empty

This game is an empty shell of a game. It's more of an experiment of "Will people buy this crap? We can use this information for future tests". The Good: * Ehmmm... Can't think of any good points. The Bad: * Boring, Simple. ugly and annoying and like some people said in their reviews - Soulless - expirience. * Any free tower defence game on mobile beats this mess of a game 10 times over. The Ugly: * The music - It is a loop of what, 5 short parts? And it never stops, never changes or evolved and worse of all is the 'Ticking' noise that you constantly get if you stand near a tower in order to give it an exp boost... OMG Why?!?

Valdis Story: Abyssal City

Good Value For $ Ratio... With Problems

The Good: * High quality graphics and animations - There was a lot of love put to each creature and animation. * HUGE replayability - Pure joy and value here. Additional 3 characters when you finish the game. Each character plays significantly different and it keeps things fresh after many hours. * Hardcore Battle System - Hard to learn and even harder to master. With too many stuff to list here. Player will have many options with playstyles. The Bad: * The Story - The regular flair of the free for all, demons vs angels vs humans, but it is told in such a way that you are left clueless and lost of what is happening and thus you will not care. Examples: Dialog is very limited and scarce, game drops on you strange names of races, towns, people, ect... From the get go without explaining who or what they are until far into the game. Also no character development at all. * Over Complex Progression Crafting System - Too many stuff that you need to collect and exchange. I tried explaining how frustrating it is here when writing the review but it killed the character limit here. Let's just say they overdid it. * Controls - Not tight enough - They get the job done but you always want more accuracy and control over your actions. In my opinion a controller is a must for this game and even with it, it's still not that good. * Boss Battles - Frustrating and crappy for the most part. They "gate" their difficulty by making them take lots of lots of damage and the end boss takes more than 20 min to beat and it was an excellent result (Got an "A" score on it by the game). * Music not impactful - Totally forgetful and does not make you excited for battles. The Ugly: * Wishing you played a game of the same type with more polished controls - I Couldn't stop wanting to play as "Zero" from "Mega Man X4". * Starting the game as a different character and understanding that you like him much more than the original - Why couldn't I just start playing as that character in the first place?

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky

Horrible, Buggy, Dumbed Down Mess

Note! This review is based on "Arsenal Overhaul" mod coupled with the community bug fixes patch. The Good: * It's a prequel to a truly great game. Telling the events that happened and for most part it has pretty solid narrative, although very very linear (Makes sense because it is a prequel). The Bad: * Just like the original game it has a brutal start that discourages you to continue playing. * Bugs, bugs everywhere. This game has so many bugs it hurt my brain. Looking at the sun will cost you -25 FPS... Yeah, you heard me right. One of the first quest will infinitely spawn enemies in a place that you need to take over - Googling it will explain you how to bypass it .Every 15-45 or so min the game will crash. You can't load quick save without the game crashing if you are dead when you do so. Scripts stop working making you reload hefty amount of sections. Quests that you cannot complete. Clipping and so much more... * AI went complete Cuckoo in this game. They can snipe you with a machine gun from half a map away but will miss you when next to you. Comrades will ignore dead friends that are next to them, that you just killed and it will make the fights boring because you are winning vs a broken system. * Game lost almost everything that made the previous game great - Artifacts now needs to be located inside the anomalies making so that you will die 99% of the time you will try to get the artifacts, in the end you will just skip them. Completely ignores the scary and influential parts that made the original game great - There is like very little going on within the supernatural area and fighting a mutant is a rare occurrence. * Mid story, the game takes all your money away... I joke you not. * Terrible map design with invisible walls, navigation system that you will question its logic after going north-west will take you to south-east part of the map - No joke! The Ugly: * Only 1 skin per enemy - WHAT??? The previous game had like 2-3.

Jazzpunk: Director's Cut

Press Button to Receive a Joke

The Good: * The people on this site - They gave the game a 4 star rating. I am impressed by how nice those people are. Unfortunately games should be judged a little bit more harshly than that and they should not be sugar-coated. Otherwise we will mislead future customers into believing that something is good while it is a complete waste of time and money. The Bad: * This is not a game - You press a button and the game will present you a joke. Be it a gag joke, a reference joke or any other joke you can think of. You can replace this whole "Game" with a screen with items that will present you the jokes when you press on them. The "Game" has nothing to offer. Just a barebone over-praised short experience. Oh.... Totally forgot.... IT IS NOT FUNNY! The Ugly: * Thinking that the game has premise when you laugh at the first joke, then you will smile at the second joke. At third joke you will smile no more and after that you will get frustrated that you paid money for this "Game".

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

Unique, Atmospheric Running Simulator

Note! The base game is terrible in every area. You must use mods to fix it and enhance your playing experience. This review is based on the original game coupled with the community bug fixes patch. The Good: The AI - Best I've seen in a while. They will dodge, hide, retreat and flank you. This AI will make you it's dog-female. The atmosphere - Is grousmly good. Few games can match it. You have the feeling throughout the game that you truly are in the chernobyl. The Combat - It's so tactical and solid. A very satisfying experience. You can't half ass it and run and gun. You need to think and use cover and lean correctly, Choose the right weapons, take a higher ground and retreat when necessary. The Endings - Game have 7 endings! Each unique and shows a cool CGI clip. After finishing the game I advise you to see the others with youtube. The Bad: The AI and Difficulty - Completely broken, retarded and cheap. Often watching the walls like you gonna show from there. Killing you from miles away with perfect headshots with the crappiest gun while you doing no damage to them and always miss using the same weapon as they do. Also they make no NOISE when they walk! You will die so much because of their bullshit flanking because you can't hear their footsteps! This make the cheaply hard because you will die every couple of seconds in a fight. Lack of Weapons and The Use of Attachments - It's really barebones for this sort of game and it feels like a wasted opportunity. The Weight Limit and Stamina System - God help me. This man can barely carry his own wight! You will be micro managing it throughout the whole game because picking stuff above your limit will cause you to stop running and then you cannot even walk. And the main thing you will be doing in this game is WALKING! The Ugly: Getting a quest on the other side of the map and wasting 15 min running back to the quest giver after finishing it only to waste another 15 min to go back to the area you were in before. Grr..

Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive

Remarkably Polished, Full Featured Game

The Good: * Pretty Much everything. This game came in the time when games had high productions values and were shipped when they gave so much more to the player for their price. Beautiful locals and animations. 25 missions, when each has a short CGI clip. Each mission can take 20-45 min depending on how you tackle the mission and how much time you restart / Reload the game. Awesome and unforgettable cast of characters. Supreme level of interactivity between characters, environments and enemies. Multiple paths for finishing objectives and much, much more. You own it to yourself to play this game and you will be talking to yourself while playing stuff like: "Why we don't see more games like this or at least as polished as this one???"... Yea, this game makes today's games look like they were created by an amateurs who only care to make quick $$$ and run away. The Bad: * I can only nitpick here... But still, there is some 0.5 sec delay while entering buildings. This causes the animation to start and you will see the character enters the building but as soon as he will be in, you will die because at that moment someone shot you. The Ugly: * This kind of games do not exist any more... Lets hope that in the future we will see something akin or at least an HD remake of this game. It really deserves it.

Trine 2: Complete Story

Simply Overstays It's Welcome

The Good: * A good... Forget it... An amazing... Never mind that... Oh I know... Gorgeous...No, no, no... What the word I am looking for?... I know! JAW-DROPPING graphic. Rich, Colorful and packed with so many eye candy that I think that the only game that looks better on the market is "Trine 3". * Very solid action-puzzle-platformer - Nothing needs to be added here. The game knows what it is and provides a good experience in that category. * An enchanting music - The music never comes to be an amazing one in this game but it fits the game very well. The Bad: * Simplified gameplay from the first one - Removing items and mana bar. Checkpoints now heal you for full health. Because of this the gameplay never really challenge you since you are never punished and you never need to consider anything beside how get to the other side or solve the puzzle. From start to finish it has no build up. * It's too long - Not in a sense that it is some grand game but in a scene that it has almost nothing new stored for you in it's 10 hours or so hours of length. No new mechanics, challenged or such. Nada... There is a point of how much times you can solve the same puzzle or platforming section in the same way until it becomes repetitive and tedious. * Story - In the first game they went and did a fairy tale like story, that went nicely with the game. This time they went with the generic story that pretty much adds nothing and you will not care for anything. * No point in searching for secrets - Unlike the previous game that gave you items for exploring hidden areas... This time you will get a poem or a picture... Gee, thanks but no thanks. * Fights - Fighting is the game weakest side. Unlike how in the previous game they knew it and provided a minimum amount of it, here you fight non stop and it's far from a refined system. Just choose warrior and click-click-click that left mouse button. The Ugly: * Realizing that this game is quite shallow... Sad face :(
