Kind of reminds me of Shinobi and Ninja Gaiden. Controls feels a little loose for some of the fights. A few of the sub bosses are VERY frustrating. Overall a great game, but I'm not sure its worth the full asking price. If you see it on sale, grab it.
I picked this up on sale a week ago and am surprised it isn't better regarded. It is among the most approachable games of its type, with much slower and more precise combat that might take some getting used to is you play a lot of metroidvanias. It doesn't take forever to complete and has a decent amount of content to explore even once you finsih off the final boss. Art style is fantastic and Geralt does a great job narrating. The story is refreshing in that it seems to very sincere in a way I'm not used to seeing in modern media. No obnoxious attempt to subvert expectations with only a slight hint that not all was well in the Rat Kingdom's leadership before the Frog invasion. The biggest issue one might have with the game is some slight repetitiveness and some of the boss fights are a bit of a slog, but I can't take any points away for that in good faith. HIGHLY reccomend this one to anybody seeking a lighter fantasy metroidvania with a great art style.
In its current state, this game doesn't do anything particularly new or different than any number of other shooters and is very similar to doom, almost to a fault (at least in setting and enemy design). But it does what it does so damn well, it feels like a refreshingly new experience that I would highly reccomend, especially to those who really love the Brutal Doom Mod. Everything here has a weighty, chunky feel to it that is difficult to describe, but I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The content already on offer is more than enough to justify a purchase. And I'm VERY impressed with the fan-made levels that are already available. Anyways, LOVED THIS GAME, and think it fits in great with all the other recent Boomer Shooters.
