First of all Game is really good. I ran it via Lutris. and played on Soldier difficulty (i am the type of player that hates punishing gameplay - like Darkest dungeon) On plus Plot is good - gave me nice pull to resolve Blue guards (my company name) predicament Music and art is good, World feels alive (except that Tower near starting city and mothers all around having sorcerer kids in need of rescuing, got scared when my mercenaries got grey hair [good job!]) Legendary relic quest chain Classes and jobs - good variety (maybe even too much because I never hired balladier) and interesing skill Combat is ok. I have issues that are explained in minus section My Game sessions tended to be long during which i was having fun On minus: So much reading - would appreciate if someone read it at least main quest line and that guy that has agreement with demon and sends my company to die in dungeon. So much leveling late game - i skipped a lot of it. During accepting quest i have no idea where on map the city is. Skills cannot be swapped during dungeon and the only intel i have before launching party is 1-2 enemy type without showing its strength/weakness Dungeon modifiers are only negative - and often 1st one i got was removing my evasion and attacks of opportunity [WTH game!] Combat even on soldier difficulty can drag on forever - would be better if skills dealt less damage than normal attack but helped position/buff better - had 2 good uses of valkyrie taunt skill throughout entire game often i switched to skills to finish fight faster and have better accuracy.
For me it was good game but I had no incentive to play on normal or hard mode() Music is there Art is cute and nice Story is there gameplay: building base is good at the beginning and then it gets boring expeditions are okay at best - 1 You always have enough supplies to move - map has same number of nodes to visit no matter if you go top, middle or bottom. 2 Fights are simple - both ranged bots shoot up to 3 spaces ahead and mages do splash damage but not enough to change fights. 3 Random events are win/loose or don't loose/loose scenario - 1st one is worth rigging in your favour with resource from base other are just tap bar when over one of 3 green bars(basically always win).
I really expected more from this title. And now that i finished it i don't want to go back + 1 nice music 2 interesting premise 3 enough variation in weapons/turrets/items if a bit too much in weapon department 4 3rd stage introduces ice which is nice mechanic 5 Wall spiders can be helpful in preserving many resources 6 Clean room of traps is very nice feature 7 You can collapse bridge under enemy - 1 not enough events. at times i feel like it battle battle battle 2 cannot scout ahead if you enter room and it is battle you are locked in there. it half-defeats idea of respawn points. because you can do stage differently but can't retreat and try different room 3 Enemies are tough and in great number. if one hits you others will go after turrets/barricade/random objects which destroys some idea on how to tackle a stage and Rippers fire is hard to dodge 4 Resource game leaves you often at huge loss so its better to fight through stages then build elaborate traps 5 game happens fast so often its not good to buy extinguish bombs for when ripper decide to fireball your tower
