I fight against the controls instead of the enemies. I remember how jealous Amiga-owners were back in the 90's because of this ms-dos only game. We had to wait for a few years until the decent "Ambermoon" - first rpg on our machine with that graphics. But it switched to a turn-based game during battles (wise). Do not waste your time with that one unless for nostalgic reasons.
Way to easy. Nice game for parents who want to experience a good story with their child. Interacting together on a pc is better than watching tv with them. Predecessor "The Whispered World" is too difficult for young kids, but way the better game.
Well written characters and story do not make up the lack of decent graphics and music. I expected "Blackguards" to be a turn-based version of the excellent "Drakensang" but was disappointed. This game is not hard but extremely unfair, almost unplayable. The tedious trial and error whould have been easily avoided if the player was able to change equipped weapons right before a fight.
Excellent story, characters and a play world worth to spend lots of time in. It takes me usually about 60 hours in an RPG to achieve "God Status", meaning being invincible - this game however is much more realistic: After 100+ hours played I still need to be extremely careful not to be ambushed. -After some hours of village life and bohemian politics the game finally becomes open world and you can do what you want. Unfortunately you are still wet behind the ears and do not even know how to block melee attacks (you need a teacher for learning that). Expect to be frustrated for a long time about the combat system until you get the knack! -You will loose your hard earned money without loaded dice. Find at least one before you gamble. And remember: You only go to the brothel because the ladies wash your clothes.
