The game is incredible in it's detail and world design. The immersion feeling is amazing. The plot is just one of those Hong Kong Police Jackie Chan movies, a Crime Story sort of. The combat system is fun and engaging, but not as deep or savage as the Arkham games. Totally a great game.
This game is a loose and open sequel of Prince of Qin. Super fun hack'n'slash. The first game is more real time with pause, about the whole party power. This is more a Divine Divinity style. Fun to play, very fun, there was even a online mmo of this game. Keep in mind everything is raw translated from chinese, giving a very amateur voice acting, and all the translated text is more Wuxia oriented than western rpg fantasy we might be used to.
It's a Blitzkrieg game with a plot under a Mad Max Fallout-esque atmosphere. There is no voice acting but plenty of dialogue boxes and plot, adding details to the missions or describing relationships between the heroes, the comic style transitions sometimes are just to add plot or story. The game is pretty much, like i said, a Blitzkrieg game, cars and trucks deploying and moving in real time. There are heroes in this game that must survive each level. If a hero dies the mission is lost and you have to reload or restart. When a vehicle is about to explode the hero leaves the vehicle but gets exposed in the heat of combat, and like in blitzkrieg games, heroes are like infantry, tiny weak units. Overall is fun, real time strategy with mad-max and fallout vibes. Is that kind of strategy game where after several hours you already know most of the hotkeys and start to try any kind of bold strategy.
There is simply no other FPS game like this. It has a bit of many genres and games out there, dark atmosphere and cyberpunk art resembling a lot to Blade Runner but also has a solid setting of factions, a Temple HQ with Archives area for reading lore and NPC's to do secondary content such as missions or training. Keep in mind this is a source game, if you ever played HL2, the engine, phisics and mechanics are pretty much like it, a clone. Despite that, the story, the setting and the gameplay is pure gold and fun.
Commandos 2 is no doubt a timeless classic same as the first game, however Commandos 2 is superior in many aspects to commandos 1 and 3, being the third game the weakest. Get for free the Destination Paris mod for Commandos 2 Men of Courage and you will have the whole saga in one game, with 324 missions to test your RTS might. Destination Paris is a community made mod totally free, easy to get easy to install. Commandos 2 + Destination Paris is a 11gb game aprox, and is no doubt one of the best rts games, and with enough content for several months of game!
The game is an hybrid between some genres around there. First, it works like a point and click but it is not since there is no mouse, is full keyboard. Then, it works like a Resident Evil, with pre-rendered scenarios and obviously pixelated out of the picture elements to interact with. The way the game works is very similar to PSX game of El Dorado animation movie. If you are up to this type of games, adventures with puzzle elements to solfve using the items the scenario gives you the game turns out enjoyale. Controls are clunky, slow and unrensponsive, and it is a game that shows it's age.
It is a slavic game, very hard to describe. It is that hollow fantasy rpg atmosphere you find in other games like this, let's say, Konung 3. Nothing remarkable, very cliché, but everything done and settled with that unique slav art. Main character runs like the main of Death to Spies 1. It is like... This way: your caharacter is on the map, it seems like a open world, and it is, but this first setting is something like a Total War Campaign Map. You will dwell in the world speaking with npcs, they will give you quests and when a npc triggers a battle or you trigger one on the map, it will switch to the turn based grid, that it also works in it's own way. The quests are common bread, help me with this, kill this, bring me that, or bring me that and that's why you have to kill this and so on. It is a good old game for dive in if you like this sort of slavic fantasy rpg stuff, let's say, konung, king's bounty, etherlords, or evil islands. At a personal level it hooked me very fast, you need to be careful which encounters take and which quests accomplish. Once this starting situation is gone, as you can increase HP and Damage for you main character, game goes enjoyable but still not easy. The necesity of being always leveled with the world, you and your army will always appear in silly defeats.
This is a very hard and unique real time strategy game. Eons away from AoE, this is a superior game in every aspect, and is way more difficult. A game i would recommend to any RTS fan, it has a sadly accurate history context, graphics that hold up to this day and an incredible replay value. Campaign missions can go from ten minutes to two hours of game and lose, and inevitably, you will try again because the game will hook you to do so. Simply one of the best rts games on gog, but is missing one period called Divided Nations i wonder why we don't have it.
This is a game about intelligence and espionage. Decent expansion-sequel to the first Death to Spies game. Very good looking graphics, the mission scenarios are detailed, well done and use to have several interactable stuff for help you or not to achieve your objectives. You are not Hitman in this game, no solid snake, no Sam Fisher, you're just a man, a spy, and the missions are like that, about intelligence, espionage, not just kill people. No doubt is a very good espionage-stealth game.
