Submarine Titans

A good old gem indeed.

Never heard of the game. Just looking for to pick up something isometric and RTS and this appeared discounted. Putting hours into it since installed it. It is just a gem of old, the level of Fragile Allegiance or Original War. Amazing visuals that stand up the test of time, the gameplay is like a Starcraft, i know back in the day this kind of RTS games where a thing. It is also atmospheric, the music works very well. If you like RTS, this is a enjoyable jewel.

Alekhine's Gun

Mundane Espionage-Counter Intelligence

This is the third entry in the Death to Spies series of games. During development the game went through many changes, first was going to be called Ghost of Moscow, then Death to Spies 3 and in the end it ended with this name, Alekhine's Gun. It´s a clear downgrade from the Death to Spies games, being Death to Spies 1 the best, Moment of Truth a expansion, this is still not bad. There are not big areas like in Death to Spies 1, where Strogov is young and is literally a field scout, a captain of the SMERSH doing for real intelligence stuff. However, somehow the game keeps that feeling of mundane espionage, pure intelligence stuff of spies, i would not say like a 007 but pretty much like it. Semyon Strogov, given the surname Alekhine when HQ involves you in the plot of the game is just a man. No agent47, no Ethan Hunt, no James Bond, just a man, and that´s it. You can choke, stab, and knock down by punches, carry up the bodies and change clothes (in hard mode only by choke or stun with fists or chloroform). Can´t change clothes on Saboteur, pretty much like in the Death to Spies games. The shooting is more action driven, Semyon is easier to control than in previous games when things heat up. The graphics are cool enough, the maps are detailed and look good and well enough, but they lose the feeling of freedom you have in the open areas of Death To Spies. In the end, i liked it a lot, is a pretty decent espionage game, don´t expect anything 007'ish or Ethan Huntish because it won't happen. It is a game of intelligence stuff, spies, worldly, that sort of thing. It´s in fact one of the few games that captures that feeling of being for real a spy, always in the razor edge, getting the feeling that if the enemy discovers you, they will end you right there.

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate

First Warhammer game.

This is my first ever Warhammer 40,000 game and i find it a very solid turn based strategy game. You have squads specialized in tasks and each squad member has a name, you can choose their equipment and even switch them between squads to make a team with the max AP possible. The map has levels you can switch at any time with the keyboard, like, you can have a fight in level 2 and then press 4 to see how things are going at that level. The space marines can walk, crouch and run, look around and carry destructive weapons and grenades. Also they can interact with the map making the interaction button available when it is possible. A true gem of old. For me it is just a very enjoyable turn based game i would recommend to anyone who likes this kind of games.

Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom

Unique gem.

Charming and addictive gameplay. The graphics are very good and the way city building is organized is very well done. Rule wisely, and the people will do the rest, and this feels exactly this way.

Prince of Qin

Finally. Thank you!!

This game is very unique, been on my wishlist a lot of time. The game is a very special hybrid between Baldur's Gate and Divine Divinity setted on a wuxia china. The characters have combos and special skills like a HnS but is RTWP. Regarding story, well, the version i played had the common mistranslations and that way of writing of the chinese wuxias. The plot explores the idea of the son of the emperor, Fu Su, not obbeying the order to take his own life, instead seeks out adventure traveling south to figure out why his own father wants him dead. Now the store needs Blade&Sword and Seal of Evil!!

Chicago 1930: The Prohibition

It has two parts

The first part when you struggle to get used to the clunkyness and inferior mechanics from the other games, this being the other Spellbound Titles. Is not as good as Robin Hood. Is not nearly close good to Desperados 1 but at the second part of the game, once you get used to the graphics art and so on, is pretty much a very enjoyable action strategy game. Is a game for play it when you are hooked in this Mafia-ish theme. And is, also, a classic. Good Old Game.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

Atmospheric, engaging. Iconic RPG.

The Witcher 1 is one of those games that if you playing for first time a RPG or just a very western art type game, this will stick in your memory. The music, the atmosphere and the gameplay in isometric camera make of this a very detailed and full of content RPG. There are tons of dialogues, tons of characters, all of them voiced and subbed. Technically is a superior gem, for its age and even nowdays, The Witcher has a level of detail and care other modern games couldn't achieve and fall in generic rambling. An example of this is the game Dragon Age Origins, that is in most aspects, including argument and gameplay, way inferior to TW1. Also, is a must have for anyone really interested in the full saga of Geralt.

Crusader: No Remorse™

Excellent Gem

This game is simply one of those flawless gems of old. Hard, Long, Good Music and Lore thar you must read about it outside the game, very common stuff in DOS games of those years. Play the game on max dificulty No Remorse.

Fragile Allegiance

Total gem.

This game is a total managerial/combat/strategy gem. Don't expect storyline, you are just working for The Federation, an asteroid-mining franchise, and this is what you do. But also, there will be competitors and hostile alien species that seek the same goal: mineral exploitation and they won't hesitate in turn to violence to wipe you from asteroids you mining in. The gameplay is mouse based and totally addictive. Keep in mind game cannot be played outside the box and the dosbox coming with the program may crash to desktop, easy solution is just try other versions of dosbox.
