After just a tad less than 47h in-game, I've finished it. It was stressful, hard, and at times my heart was skipping beats like me trying to impress the ladies on the dance floor. I ain't a great dancer... But did I have fun? I did. Every single run. The game is procedurally generated and particles have physics. That alone lets you approach every level, every run differently. Sometimes you'll get bad luck and won't find good wands, won't be able to pick up any good perks, or will just get ganged by enemies. Sometimes though you will get the best of luck, find rare perks, rare wands, strong spells... And quite often you'll still lose despite that. But in the end, you will come back to the game again and try another run where your chances for survival are slim. I don't think there's another game quite like this. Give it a go.
Bought the game after seeing a very praising video review of it. I liked the style, the settings, the mechanics. Decided to give it a shot. And I got to say I am having a blast. This game is brilliant. Relatively unique settings, good soundtrack, or even sound design in general. Nice graphics. Well thought through mechanics. Everything is destructible. It's a great game.
Firstly I want to make it clear I like this game. I like the gameplay. I like the graphics. But there are two major BUTs that effectively prevent me from giving it more than three stars. First of them is the filter. I would much appreciate if we could filter out of the music selection rather than just select specific tracks to display. I have uploaded my music and that is what I want to play. What I don't want to play, on the other hand, are the tediously slow (with exceptions) tracks included with this game. Just let me kick them out of the selection and I will be happy. Second but is the storyline. Boy, oh boy, are the antagonist's monologues cringeworthy... Other than that the game is a solid shoot-them-up game based on your music with interesting enough weapon selection. I liked it, I really did. But the two things described above made my brain want to crawl out of my skull.
Warlords Battlecry II is a real-time strategy game with an amazing gameplay, well built campaign and cleverly designed system of races, heroes, and classes. One of the few flaws of this game is that only very few people played it. Well, what are you waiting for? Go fix it!
