All games in this release use the same save slots. So if you play for example Doom 2 for completion and then change to Doom 1, using the saving there will overwrite the saves in Doom 2. Nothing wrong with that, if only one had known earlier...
Dosbox settings: fullscreen=true fulldouble=false fullresolution=800x600 windowresolution=960x600 output=ddraw autolock=true sensitivity=100 waitonerror=true priority=higher, normal mapperfile=mapper-0.74-2.map usescancodes=true language= machine=vgaonly captures=capture memsize=16 frameskip=0 aspect=false scaler=none core=simple (or dynamic) cputype=486_slow cycles=max limit 3800 cycleup=1000 cycledown=1000 Other setting should be left as default. If anyone has problems with cursor moving to the edge of the screen, try disconnect any usb devices such as joysticks or printers, NOT keyboard and mouse ^^ Change the resolution to your liking.
To launch this game under WIN 10 edit the file "PersistentSymbols.ini" in Serious Sam The First Encounter\Scripts folder and add lines: persistent extern INDEX sam_iScreenSizeI=(INDEX)1024; persistent extern INDEX sam_iScreenSizeJ=(INDEX)768; save the file, launch the game and change the resolution as needed
Before you start playing though, set your keyboard to English (Although the game is French ^^). To be on the safe side, back up all configuration files from the: "Silverfall\Data\Config\" folder first. When you try to change the controls, but you do not have the keyboard set to English, the keys you changed will be completely erased and you will not be able to restore them to their original settings. There is no default button. Just re-enter all the keys manually? The entire page for keys is cleared and you can't enter them manually. Apart from this mistake, the game is cool, even if the character sometimes gets stuck and the camera sometimes turns to the opposite side on its own. :) I would compare it to some kind of cross between Sacred series and Dragon Age in terms of control and functions. So if you are fan to those games, this one is right for you. Have fun! ^^
