If I need more than an hour to get past one enemy, let it be the very first one in the tutorial, and I cant beat it. then this game is for kids who have tons of time, no jobs and no lifes. These are the only ones that cant complain. But Im an adult, a grown up man with a job, a household and bills to pay, I dont have time for such stupid time wasters. Yes I know, I can fail at this first enemy, but it shows another flaw: You would need a lot of time to defeat it nonetheless, because your dmg output is very low and the output of the enemy is darn high. This was my first "szupid souls" game after quite some time. But as I've learned, they are all still the same stupid time wasters. Maybe the worlds can be interesting of design, but many players wont even see them, because there is the lack of a difficulty option. The argument "git gud" doesnt apply here. This argument is only made by childs who have time. Many players maybe want to take a look at those worlds and yet they are forbidden to enter these. Good job devs of such games. Will never buy again
Can be finished in 12 hours on lowest difficulty. The gameplay on this one is fairly simply and you dont need to care about buffs and debuffs that much. I bet it will look different on the other difficulties, when you are low on ressources to level your minions up. The comments of your main guy are getting pretty annoying very fast. And they cause a hinderance because they slow down combat or block buttons on your base menue. What I like are the artworks of the minions. These are nice designs. I dislike the ending. It shows, that it is left for purchase later on. And oh, what is that: A wild dlc appears with a "new final boss" and "new ending"! It is not very effective. Got it for free. Played it on easy and delete it afterwards. Still got me a couple of hours of fun : )
TS is a game, which replicates the old Resident Evil and Silent Hill games gameplay and mechanicly wise. Technically fixed camera angles (but with the camera on a moving track as the player moves), standing still for combat, slow progression, less action and real riddles (not the RE4 established "find to stones put em together and done"-crap). And this game succeeds with that. It really gives you the feel of an old era game, but with some nice new additions. For example your inventory isnt limited and you have a quick-button for the map. Also you can make a quick-step back if you are under attack. But where the game really shines are the locations, or better the main location of the hospital: it really looks amazing. Good design and texture works blend in well together with ambient sounds and the soundtrack. It is giving you sometimes an unesing feel of something wrong. The difficulty of the game seems very well balanced to me: you are given enough ammo and medipacks when you need them and you will find a save-tape (yes! Saves are limited again! Wohoo!) in almost every save room to help you with the decision of "should I save now or later?" While the voice actors maybe sound bad, and the lines arent written that well, I have the believe that this was by intention: to replicate the B-movie charm of the old RE-titles. Maybe it helps, that the Devs arent english native speakers. Who knows. The major gripe I have with this game, is the lack of replayability. You arent unlocking a New Game + or a new difficulty (matter of fact: you only have one difficulty) or anything else. Which is a bit sad. And there are some questions open in the end, but maybe it is because of the writing ^^ I can recommend this game to those who like to replay the old survival style games or want to look into it. It is way more beginner friendly than the original resident Evil or the remake of it.
Well, I thought im getting a little card game, with a story. Sure, I somewhat got it, but the RNG ist way to stupid: Sometimes I die against the very first boss, sometimes I cant even reach the second. So far I couldnt even beat the third one, because of the RNG which will determine which cards you will get. The "power of chose" is stupid, if all I can chose from are cards which need a sacrifice first. Which isnt helpful if the enemy is throwing 3 of 5 cards with instant attack abilities at you. WIth no sacrifice needed to spawn. And all I have on my hand? Cards which need a sacrifice first. Good job. I deinstalled it, because it gets boring to replay the first three levels for 3 hours now. No thanks.
So far, I have played a couple of hours and Im loving it! The story is maybe a story about growing up and in the beginning a bit sad but it grew to me. The chosen art style is of course the star of this game. The landscapes with the outlines and especially the colours reminding me a bit of the Moebius comic art style and are fitting for a big open desert. Maybe the gameplay mechanics arent much and can be compared with Breath of the wild with the climbing stamina and the gliding, but I dont mind! What I also like are the "inner thoughts" of Sable, the main character, which give her a nice personality. Some maybe will think the price is too high for an idie game, but I believe the artists behind this game deserve that money. And Im glad I bought it!
What you will get a PDF with 128 pages! What you will miss: Concept art. The Artbook can really name itself one. At least as long as it goes for the "book" part. You could also say that it could go for the "Art" as well, if you appreciate renders of the game engine models and scenery. Rarely you will see some concept drawings. Which made me a bit sad, because I enjoy looking at the concepts more than game assets, I have already seen. Even if the game can be as beautiful as this one. 3Stars for the weight of 128 pages and some nice pictures. But could be improved upon!
Yes, the graphics maybe arent looking that good. But heck: COD is recycling assets and no kid complains. Bethesda is building their games with rearranged assets, too. Hired Gun has more originality in its levels than any Skyrim or Fallout. No level is looking like the one before. The gunplay works fine and I cant complain. Maybe the dog is a bit useless. But my biggest gripe: No OST on GOG. WHY? WHYY?!
This is a nice little adventure game. The graphical design fits the tone well with all the surrealism. It maybe feels a bit short or small. There arent many scenes to visit. But that is okay. It isnt stretched out unneccessarily, so Im happy with it. I hope we will see from that dev!
