Like, seriously? I already own Diamond. Must I pay AGAIN (and MORE) for some brushed-up graphics?
After the second hotfix the mouse is running perfectly smooth, and the game can be enjoyed in full. Don't set your resolution higher than the default 640x480, though – all it did for me was pixelate all the icons and fonts and made my eyes hurt. At the default, everything is perfectly legible.
