Yet again! This worked fine when I tried it many years ago. Now when launching you just get a BARRAGE (about 40 or so) off pop-up errors stuffed with large amounts of gobbledygook. No solutions on the forums as very few ever play this these days and there is scant activity over there. YET IT IS STILL BEING PEDDELED! U suck GOG! In fact it is on a 67% off sale at this very moment. Don't waste your chocolate bar money on it!

1) It was a given out as a temporary free offer, GOG often reserve the dregs of their catalog for that! 2) A lot of stereotypical Jap schoolgirl shit! 3) It's a platformer! But I found it not to be the usual aggravating "multi pixel perfect jump sequences in rapid succession" type so typical of platformers. So far it has not been stupidly over difficult...... in fact maybe a little easy...... so far :D! I felt it just worked, once you'd got the controls customised to taste. It is meant to be used with an XBox controller though by the looks of it. Character movements felt responsive and sharp, she has a good jump height/range. Spells are fun to use but mana is in short supply. Melee combat takes a bit of good timing of your attacks to be successful. Ranged combat is easy but ammo is very scarce. Areas you have been in previously respawn - but that is an advantage for once, as you can farm them much as you want. Checkpoint saves is another bugbear usually, but they are quite frequent in this game and placed nicely before more difficult spots. There are plenty of teleportals as well, making it even more convenient to go back and farm those already done places!

It used to be quite a nice little game. Now it just crashes when starting a new one going. There's no solutions on the forum, which apart from one single unanswered post in 2022 has had NO posts since 2017. Ie, DEAD for seven years! GOG have forgotten this one and have NOT updated it and NEVER WILL. Breaking their old "it works we promise" pact. A promise GOG welched on years ago. YET THEY STILL SELL IT FOR GOOD MONEY. Well, DON'T WASTE YOURS. IT DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE. And as for all you tards who will negrep this "cos it ain't a happy clappy 5-star prasiefest", then shame on you. Think first! And you still press that "no" button, you're an idiot!

Inferior to the Amiga and Atari ST version also. You cannot even target cities directly with nukes anymore. Nuke explosion graphics are laughable compared to what was on the C64! This version does have a bit more complexity under the hood, though mostly it is not very visible to the player - but it's still simplistic and repetitive. A theatre editor would have been nice, something I always yearned for on Theatre Europe on the C64, and it could have been done here. But that trick was missed. Bought hoping for nostalgia, left with disappointment. Unlike all the other praising reviews, I don't recommend.

I couldn't get past the first "dhampir boss" right at the very start. So I can't really comment on the whole game as I will never see more than just that few %age worth of it. But what I did see wasn't overly impressive...... and the camera controls, just terribad! So personally, I don't recommend this, far inferior to the first BR

At first glance the rather tame visuals (even for 1998) might be off putting, but this is one of the best turn based D&D themed strategy titles of the era. Only "Master of Magic" and Heroes of "Might and Magic III" best it IMO. It may be pretty formulaic and relatively simple, but everything about it just works. After MoM and HoMM3 this is my 3rd favourite game of it's genre and for under a fiver it's waaaay worth every single penny over and over. If you are into this sort of thing it is a must buy!

And that brings forth the usual problems of poor graphics and sounds by today's standards. And of course, the disadvantages of running through DOSBox! Would GOG be able to supply an emulated Amiga version? Could be a legal minefield for them, but the Amiga version was by far the most superior. This was of the era when PC ports were much inferior to their Amiga counterparts. The sounds in this port GOG offer are very bad, pretty much beeps and farts only I'm afraid. The use of colour is particularly eye straining as well. The game is a total and utter classic though, a serious waypoint in the history of flight sims! It's worth it for the sheer nostalgia alone - and it's VERY cheap when on sale (I got it for 60p)! Not giving this 5-stars like all the other sheeple on here is probably going to generate some "rage downvoting" from shallow, narrow minded individuals (we'll soon see just how many of those there unfornately are), but 3 is what it is worth IMO! So tough if you don't like that.
