I have been always trying to play Fire Shark as I used to do back in the 80's. Today, I got the collection. Expensive for these old games. But you know what? I enjoyed the game as it is exactly as I remembered it. No remorse, can't wait to give it another go when I get there.
UI feels a bit odd at start and you feel not at home, but the story picks your interest and then you just keep playing and want to finish it. There are rough things that could have been made smoother, the game sometimes is a bit slow, and becomes a little repetitive, but if you follow the campaign mission its entertaining. I am new to this universe, i've played a ton of W40K daemonhunters, Xcom,PP, Xenonauts and despite my exhaustion on these games, Battletech has its place and a high one. Is it the best game? no , but it is a solid entry and I expect a second one to expand on this interesting universe. You can feel the love this game has been given and the credits are worth watching (that gives an achievement I had always expected some game to give it for watching the credits and unexpectedly this one did!) So yes it is a good game that will give you a ton of hours of fun but if you are into it.
Every so called gamer should add this one to the library despite its feel is not as smooth neither so potent as it used to be on the original arcade. Quarrelsome soccer, forget about Rocket league and blood bowl, time to go mech soccer. Action at its best, in a fast game arcade experience. BTW gog, where is POW?
I used to play it in my early teens at my local arcade long closed. I find it a bit expensive for a good old game, this should be a collection say at 30€ and It would be a must instabuy, but well, at least they brought it back ina legal way. Thanks GoG, Time to replay it. This game inspired the fifas and pros that are nowhere to be seen at decen prices. Give it a go without expectancies. BTW where is POW?
Just read that modders had made an enganced edition, so just get this gem. I loved 1, loved all the baldurs, and this one is deeper and as good or better than the others. A shame its code was lost and there is not an official enhanced edition, but the game is top notch. Thank me later.
I'm not a big fan of 3d games, (I grew up with the infinite engine ...) but this game is very easy to pick up, runs flwalessly, has good graphics an atmosphere, no learning curve, and the story is pretty good, despite not being canon it is interesting. Thr second part (Shadow of war) is more elaborated but becomes heavy in the end part. I absolutely recommend it for 5€, and it suits for those who can only play 10 minutes or for those who can extend their sessions for hours (I envy you). Go get it without hesitation it's well done, lotr,3rd person beat them up/rpg with an excellent story.
As I Say this is no AAA, but does its job and ii is a good RTS in space, and does set an excellent arc fort the second game to nail it. The second game is the full blown campaign, but this first one is worth it in its own. It's not deep, neither large as the second, but it is fun and interesting. At this high discount price it is totally worth it. I own it here and on Steam and can't understand its low rating. It is well worth it, despite 2nd being the full game IMO. Spire story and Abbadon's fate are un-canonically excellently depicted here. Cutscenes and voices are top notch too, despite being scarce. .
