Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2

Better than most.

Much better than the the first one ( Which was not bad) but both lorewise (not cannon) and the gameplay are very compelling. This in not an AAA but has a good campaign and the battles are nice RTS. If you are into warhammer or RTS its a very good game. 70 hours took my campaign and I liked tje game so much that I bought it here ( Played on Steam). A no brainer if discounted.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 - Complete Edition

How is it that...?

I had'nt yet written how engaging this title is if you are into the W40K universe. And if you're into RTS/4X Strategy. An excellent game, much better than the first one (Not that the first is bad, but this is much wider in scope) yet the story follows from the first one, at least Spire's story does. The campaign took me about 60 fun hours, enjoyed them all. If you doubt, get it, it's pretty cheap and one of the best warhammer games around, which are not that much abundant, I own it in other platforms too, as I would like more games simple to manage and deep to play to follow its thread. Lore is not canon I think, but to finish the despoiler story arc in such an epic way is really enjoying. It's not a truly AAA yet is much better than most of them. Give it a go and come back to me. Remember the first one is much worse, but also a decent game that is worth to play first to know the story, but you can directly get into this one, and skip the first which is also pretty cheap to get. That's it I think. Killing the tyranid mothership is also epic...if you want that achievement ;)

Retro Classix: Joe & Mac - Caveman Ninja

As I remembered

The game is a bit kiddish, but it is exactly what I remembered. These ports deserve support as these games were old good arcade classics, you can play them on MAME legally if you happen to own the roms... but, hey, a simple functional port that works flawlessly on W10 this is it. Only con Is that I have to use esc to exit the game, Gamepad is fully functional so I suppose either I have'nt figured it out how to esc using the pad or then this could be easily adressed.

Give me some Power Cola!!!

First of all, If you played it in the arcades in it's glory days, you are a legend ;) Then, same as bad dudes (AKA Dragonninja). Full controller support, simple and easy configuration, and just fun! FUN!!! FUN!!! as in the old good days. I love when they do the KISS with these old games and bring you an easy coin up experience. This is a classic. Get it, for what is worth it deserves a place in your backlog. How it would feel to make your boss enter to reason, well done to bring this back. Youngsters these are classic arcades so you better forget about combos, manual reading and dual axis and learn from a true GAME! Totally worth it!

Nostalgia

Go take my money. This is an arcade classic, it came late but these resurrections deserve support. Haven't played it yet, will do later. I expect it to support controller, if not I'll report. These ports have to be simple, but well made. If they are not I'll put 0 stars. But if they work well, then It's the way to go. Well done people to bring these games.

Stellar Tactics

A bit disappointed...let's wait.

So far I've given it two shots. The second one improvedbut still it is not enticng enough for me to get into it. The topic, ideas and type of game is really up my alley, but then, it is not a bad game but UI is too slow, graphs are ok but also amateurish and I was expecting a Lords of the realms/crusader no remorse/Baldur's gate experience and despite being some of them all its engine IMO is too slow/out of date to run the game with the smoothness and fluidity I need to enjoy it. I' ll give it another last chance in a year or so but after so much time I feel it won't improve on its basics, despite the developer working hard on it, the engine was a bad choice that limits it all. Again I've only spent about 3 o 4 hours into it so perhaps is not enough... but there are much better games out there to spend your time on. I really dislike to give a low mark but its depth is hurted by its slowness/clunkyness.

Baldur's Gate 3

Anything that is named Baldur's gate...

I own DOS and DOS2, and have never installed them yet, so I don't know if they are as good as they are said to be. But they will have to wait for... Ah! the old and remastered Baldur's gates, Icewind dales, NWN... those are the living legends of the genre which I have finished more times than I can count. So, I reluctantly installed BG3 in my bare minimum requirements PC and built my char. That was really good, I hope we get new classes but, so far, it has an excellent char builder. Then the cinematics intro, were really good, and when I started to play, I got stuck in the first!.. jump??? Wtf!! So I returned to my TWW2 campaign just to wonder what had happened. Will I have to learn a new UI, grind to jump, and do other excentricities totally avoidable? Who knows, I am sure I will, but hey hell it's BG3!! Just for the history and IP I have to put 5 stars here and trust Larian is up to my expectations, in the end, they managed to do make a new BG, and only doing so, already deserves my support. I have little time nowadays to game as due, and my computer is far from ideal, but I expect to go back to Faerun soon and enjoy the experience as I've always done. Now people, get the 5 stars and give us an incredible ride, we, you and they deserve it. It sucks that ea saves don't transfer to final version, but one can't get it all. Besides, seeing as Larian have always commited to the players and always been 'legal' with no dlcs 'cow milking' and giving first class treatment to their customers, I gratefully back this beloved release and am already looking forward to dip into it. I want to get Cyberpunk as well, but my i3-7100 falls short, yet it is a must to, cause honest developers who care for their players deserve our backing. I apologize for my poor review, I have really played a very little time, and it looked promising, despite it not being a lovely Infinity Engine game, take credit, It's BG3 and it's your good practises to player base, so go Larian!! Boo Boo!!

STAR WARS™ Rebellion

The game is Excellent, but...

I have the original Game with the manual and the CD. It is fantastic. Now, I got the gog version as I i don need to hassle with cds anymore. It runs... But its kind an emulation??? Have it installed with galaxy but that resolution is mmmhhh to me... I know you save our jewels but they deserve care! Get the game, it's old star wars, may become a bit boring endgame, but a very enjoyful experience from start to end. Turn based, rts basic space battles, and some little rpg in space. Very good old game.

Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat

TWW2-Grandpa still going strong

This is a good game. It was the game that introduced me to warhammer. The story is compelling and the game has a couple of hard missions but are doable. I finished it thoroughly when I was younger and it was the reason I first bought at gog. I got it expensive, and I don't regret it, as I have had it installed on the pc ever since. I am unable to speedrun it as I used to. I play a mission from time to time and despite its age still I enjoy it as much as I do TWW2. It runs very well in W10 64 bits, despite being a bit faster so you have give commands pretty fast without rushing yet. You get in the game fast, UI is ten minutes, read the manual and win the first mission, don't turn down the game at first try, as ui is easy but not at first sight, needs some dedication at first to get it. The graphics are not as good as I remembered but very passable in 1080, you forget about them when you are 1 minute into the game and the grudgebringers charge into the orc shaman. I would get Dark omen if it was available, I had it on console but I prefered this one as the enemies (skaven, orcs, trolls are more compelling to me than undead) despite Dark omen is as good or better. I see little reviews but I you are young and enjoy Total War, or even Dawn of war, this game is old but gold. Gets better as you go, and get you completely hooked in the end. But beware, its pace in W10 is a bit faster, and after the easy start there are some tough midgame missions, beat those and you will get some of the most epic and massive undermountain included, warhammer battles. I truly encourage you to try it if you can get it. It should be a bit cheaper, gog has become a bit pricier lately but, hey, you keep these classics available, and promote DRM free gaming so people, hats off! You have my support.
