After 55 hours I finished the main campaign. I must say that I really enjoyed the whole journey. The further into the game, the more all the aspects of the game shine and get more intense. Don't get discouraged by maybe a slower start. Really good atmosphere. Excellent soundtrack. I really like the immersive dubbing. The last chapter I really felt the pressure of the freezing environment and the race against the timer to get to the final destination. I played the game on the Veteran difficulty and I plan to start a new game with all the custom difficulty slider set to 200%. Really enjoyable tactical-survival RTS and also quite relaxing. Probably my top game of 2023. Well done Ashborne Games!
- Challenging, exciting and fair combat - Beautiful pixel art! Every location and character is a painting! - Atmospheric soundtrack - The story is really mysterious and engaging - I like the game does not tell you everything and you look for the information between the line of the lore. - Variety of challenges and enemies
Deus Ex + Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines + CDPR sauce. Dream come true. I'm just 13 hours in and it's highly addictive. The immersion, art, sound, graphics, story, gameplay, characters - everything is top notch. Also the performance is really good: I'm playing on Ryzen 2700, undervolted Vega 56 (Sapphire Pulse), classic SSD and 32 GB ram -> 60 fps, 1440p with 75% CAS. Everything on max but reflections and volumetric cloud effects turned off.
Captivating story: In the beginning of the game the story might look silly and the characters uninteresting. Which in my opinion might be also the author's intention. Because the further in the game, the more captivating the story and the relationships grow. Heavy topic indeed. It's also nicely done, how it's up to the player how much of the characters' background he wants/tries to see. Non-trivial puzzles: Original execution of the puzzles which leads to a really enjoyable challenge. Great atmosphere There are moments in the game, where the graphics and sound design absolutely shine and you can "feel" the situation in the game.
The world, story, characters, dialogues and your choices, that shape them and bind them together, are masterfully crafted. The concept of how the good and evil are presented is really excellent. I hope they will make a sequel. The music is excellent. I listen to it even at work. The combat is challenging on higher difficulties, which I like. I really like the random encounters and D&D-style resolve situations. After a long time this is really an original game that put me to my gamer's trance and I could play till mornings. Do yourself a favour, play this gem and support game like this.
