The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Blood and Wine

I love it

More Witcher 3, but this time Geralt travels to a country that is basically a cartoon of the middle ages, full of colorful characters, cartful of jokes and tales of chivalry that contrast harshly against the bleak tales of the north in the best way possible. If this description doesn't sound very witchery, do not fret, there's still intrigue, there's drama, and all brand new and powerful foes to conquer. You also get a house to display all those pieces of gear that are no longer useful but you kept in your stash for their uniqueness, like the wooden sword or the shovel of the caretaker. All in all, this is a great addition to the game , I liked Hearts of Stone, but this is a breath of fresh air

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

gripping story, engaging combat and more

Third person action adventure with RPG elements for good measure. The game continues the adventures of Geralt and the political conflicts of the world, the narrative is great, with a lot of bittersweet stories framed inside an ongoing war, by the end I even felt agreeing with the kingslayer from witcher 2 (even tho I killed him on the previous game), unfortunately there's noo way to kill Emhyr and be done with that royal asshole, and in the end there's no perfect ending (I don't consider the "best ending" a good one). The combat is even more satisfying than in Witcher 2, with a handy dodge key that makes "deathmatch" difficulty a lot easier than it sounds, at least as long as you don't get hit. The game is certainly gripping and you will probbaly will lose yourself hours on end just exploring the gorgeous countryside and the forests looking for secrets and sidequests But all is not perfect, the leveling system is even more restrtictive than before, there are no passive talents like being able to deflect arrows, now every single talent must be equipped to have effect, and of course some talents require you to waste points in others you will never use to unlock, this is a terrible leveling system. White orchard, and Velen are absolutely gorgeaous and a treat to explore, but Skellige is utterly atrocious, so many points of interest in the water with boats that are made out of eggshells Even tho the game treats your relationship with Yen as something that should be pursued, the fact that I have not read the books renders that point moot, Triss has been there for me ever since the first game, no reason at all to choose Yennefer over her. And finally, Gwent, ugh, didn't enjoy it at all, didn't engage with it much and I would happily abandon those quests if I could. Overall the game is great, a must play even tho is not perfect, just get the mod to fast travel from anywhere and avoid being stranded in the middle of the sea by sirens.

Necromunda: Hired Gun

Doom eternal meets WH40k...sort of

First pérson shooter with franctic combat and fas paced mocvement, set in the WH40k universe, what's there not to love? Well, unfortunately many things, the game is not bad, but is full of weird design decisions that drag it down. - Enemies blend in with the dark enviroment, you will see them when they have already replaced your bones with lead, this is aggravated by the fact that enemies will spawn out of thin air, so you will get ambushed often (really, the world is filled with pipes, vents, hatches and doors, but enemies just pop into existence). There's an option to outline enemies but oonly works when they are far away,, aka when they can't hit you anyways - 90% of the enemies use hitscan weapons, so no matter how fast you move you will get hit - apart from the limited health kits the other way to heal is to take damage and then kill enemies , which defeats purpose of trying to not get hit - Weapon balance is too balanced, a Bolter does a little more damage than a regular rifle, but has slower fire rate and a smaller magazine, so it balances out, and worst of it all, the heavy bolter does barely more damage than the bolter, but is even slower so it balances itseld (in short your entry level rifle is the best weapon because more bullets mean more chances of critical hits) this is terrible and probably heretical if you ask any WH40k fan. - There's no inventory/stats screen readily available. - The faction system is pointless and side missions are only useful for a while, until you buy all your bionic upgrades. At the end the game is heavily carried by the visuals, the music the sound design, and your dog. And even though it was fruistrating most of the time, there were a few times I was having fung jumping and grappling all over the place,, finishing off enemies to keep myself barely alive. My recommendation, pick it up on discount, because this cake is undercooked and is made with some weird ingredients (and to think it was even worse at launch)

Knightin'+

Good enough

2D dingeon crawler with retro style, the game feels and plays like a LOZ game, but with less intricate mechanics, mechanically it functions like the first LoZ, aestheticallt looks like a link to the past , the game however is mych smaller, there's no open world and amd the tools at youyr disposal are very few, unfortunately coiucldn't make it work with my controller. All in all, is an amateurish zelda like, is not bad, but is not gonnna blow your mind, three stars for effort and lack of bugs.

Neurodeck: Psychological Deckbuilder

It was nice

not a fan of roguelites, but this one was interesting, at least all the buffs and cards you get can be useful, so no nasty surprises apart from getting a non optimal hand, it can get pretty tough, specially with the modifiers after beating a run, unforytunately it has little on the way of story, and it gets repetitive, but it has a solid foundation.

Mordheim: City of the Damned

So much

Tactical RPG, withj loads and loads of micromanaging, did all the tutorials, got into my first mission, got wiped out, not exactly what I would call enticing gameplay, also, the camera sits too close in combart mode and the tactical view doesn't tell you if points of interest are above or below you

Legend of Grimrock 2

not feeling it

Classic first person dungeon crawling should be an epic adventure, specially with such a gorgeous and interesting game. The game implements clever use of physics to solve puzzles and lots of rriddles and truckloads of secret areas, Unfortunately there are a few things that put me off, mostly the lack of a vendor which rendersmost of the loot worthless, being unable to buy food, ammo, or weapons I could actually use was really disappointing . The spellcasting system is clunky and slow, which is compunded by the atrocious UI scaling, I could not play this game at 1440p because the text would look so small I wasn't able to read it and the little casting grid is barely visible. And finally, the only bug I found, the game crashed so hard when I changed the resiolution that I had to reboot my PC Great concept with poor execution, I was really hoping for another great hit like Bard's Tale 4, but I just couldn't bear it for more than a few hours , and I sincerelky wish that was not the case, I really wanted to fall in love with this game.

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition

My controller needs some rest

Metroidvania meets beat them up, a delightful combination of fast paced melee combat with soppecial moves and combos to bring pain to the hordes of the undead. And of course, secret hunting paired with tight and tough platforming, but not too punishing since there are rarely 1 hit deathtraps,. Most secret areas are clearly marked with color blocks that require an specific skill, so is not that hard to get 100% on most maps. The game is colorful and the music is upbeat, always keeping you ready for a fight, the story is the usual hero journey to save your beloved and the woprld from a great evil. And if you like easter eggs this game has you covered, is full of references to pop culture and other games, but nothing that disrupts its own identity. I suffered a lot of frustration during the hardest segments, but looking back I regret nothing, great game, gotta try the second one
