A dungeon crawler monster slaying lootfest that builds upon the first game which is good, unfortunately I didn't find it as enjoyable as other games in the genre, the camera sits too close to the character so you get frequentkly attacked by enemies offscreen, loot progression feels slugish, I finished the game still wearing lvl 20 gear píeces because there was nothing better, and skill progression is very limited, you have like 24 different skills per character, but you have to heavily invest is just a handful or risk getting stucked, I guess this encourages several playthroughs, but the game was not really that interesting to me, the genre has clearly evolved beyond this design and in 2024 you are better offf playing Grim Dawn or Diablo IV. Overall, good enough foor a playthrough, but has aged poorly.

RPG with some tabletop flavor, with lots of refrences to pop culture and geeky stuff,. The most interesting aspect is that you can choose when and where to start the random battles and side quests, giving you more variety the more you explore or advance in the main quest. Battles are usually not that hard, but there are some serious difficulty spikes, i.e; when trying to unlock one of the classes I did not get any xp initially because I was overleveled, but the boss totally wrecked me in a couple of turns. Overall the game is fun, but unbalanced, so give it a chance.

"challenging brutal roguelike platformer" definetively doesn't sound like my type of game, but as a freebie I had to try it, and yes, is not my type of game, just repeating the same over and over again until you inevitably die, I prefer handcrafted platforming challenges rather than proceduraly generated screens, also, it would benefit a lot from free aim instead of 8 directional aim. Mosrt magic items require you to deal damage to recharge instead of working on cooldowns, which suck. At least the music is catchy.

Playeed the original on the N64, never expected to see this one on PC, but here we are, you can't really go wrong with more of classic DOOM, my only issue is that when I alt +Tab to change my podcast the game crashes, a lesson I learned early so I save before doing so.

As a fan or Revolution software I gotta say I was very skeptical about another 3D point and click game since BS3 & 4 didn't sit well with me, but I liked Beneath a Steel Sky so I decided to give it a chance, and let me tell you, this game doesn't deserve the middle of the way rating it has, this game is awesome. + The graphics are beautiful, bright and colorful, the slightly cel shaded comic look make it timeless + Music is on par, very fitting for the setting + Thew voice actors just knocked it out the park, outstanding performance bringing to live the different characters. + The story is engaging and the puzzles tend to be on the easy side (which can be good or bad depending on how challenging you like them), personally I think this qualitry make them fit more organically into the world, no moon logic required, so you won't get stuck for hours and the story keeps moving forward. Curiously enough, I didn't encounter any glitches or bugs mentioned in other reviews, I guess I was lucky. At the end of the day I had a great time with this game, I am glad I gave it a chance and now I'm very excited for whatever Revolution will do next.

Credit where credit is due, the art style is great, and the musical score fits nicely, unfortunately the main character is unbearable, selfish, selfcentered and absolutely unaware of how annoying he is, is hard to root for someone like that, Even if you put up with the cringe, the centralmechanics of the game are not great, there are some very obtuse puzzles, you can see the end goal, but the steps can be mired in moon logic, that requires luck more than brute force, so be ready to use a guide, which sucks away what little magic there is in the experience.

First person action adventure? I'm not even sure what this game is trying to be, stealth is broken, many times I have been detected by enemies way before I even know they are there, specially because big open areras with no verticallity will give you no opportunity to evade combat, speaking of which. as a FPS it fails miserably, ammo is scarce and expensive so you have to be precise, all while enemies rush at you; you cannot evade or block attacks, so your only recourse is to trade blows until one of you is dead, and you are weak as a paper wipe, Intersting idea to make the game black and white with high contrast, but the poor mechanics are just not worth it

Point and click greatnmess, after the uninteresting BS3 & 4, BS5 returns to the 2D pixel hunting goodness of the old times, with some serious glow up on the presentation, loved the highly detailed backgrounds , vibrant and colorful, characters are witty and comedic again, lots of nostalgic throw backs and the puzzles are not terribly difficult for the most part (failed to escape the room with the tabula without help), I loved what Revolution did here.

Battlechasers is more than a run of the mill turn based combat rpg , with interesting abilities that sinergize between characters and a lot of perks that modifies your skills yioou can end up with some seriously powerful setup, but it will never feel overpowered since enemies can also use some powerful buffs and debuffs to eat through your defenses. The art style is catoonish and colorful, it has a good variety zones to explore and procedurally generated dungeons with a plethora of side quests to keep you busy. The good: + most skills require you to plan your attacks to get the best of them + character perks can be switched on and off for easy customization + technically you can activate all the perks if you got the points + enemies can be tough even if you have the best gear + lots of secret bosses + love the art style and the music that go hand in hand to create a pleasant experience + fishing minigame is the best kind of miinigame The bad: - Your ger will always be subpar to your level and dungeons drop gear 4 levels below the enemy level (ie, a legendary dunfgeion run will have lvl 17 enemies, but will drop lvl 13 loot), even at max level (30) the best gear is level 27 - crafting stations can only be found inside dungeons (they unlock at town with story progression, but still, I didn't enchant my gear for the longest time because is the last one to unlock) - Knolan and Alumon are mechanically terrible characters (sucky dps/healer hybrids), the game could easily ditch them and make a static 4 man party with the rest, even more so because characters outside the party get zero xp so is an extra grind to keep all the characters at the same level (not worth it imo). Overall the game is good, and I hope to see more of Gully and the gang in the future.

Survival horror? More like anxiety simulator, stealth is you best tool and even then the xeno is never far away, every interaction is designed to slow you down: checking terminals, hacking doors, using the torch, entering passwords, and even looting containers. Good luck survivoing your trembling hands while an unstopable death machine is breathing on your neck, weapons are scarce and ultimately useless, even if you shoot human enemies the gunfire will just attract unwanted attention and then everybody dies. As a fan of the Penumbra/AmnesiaI series I love this game, get ready to die a lot and feel like the luckiest woman in the universe when you get away with your life. Sound design is great, music is minimal, but adds to the suspense and graphics are a treat with the station designed just like the old movies to feed your retro nostalgia, unfortunately there's some issue with the antialiasing , can't make it work properly and there are a lot of jagged edges even at 1440p, but I can live with that.
