Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Imperial Edition Bundle

Sort of good, but with major flaws.

TLDR: If this is your first CRPG, avoid, otherwise the price is so low you might as well give it a shot. In the beginning the enemies are to overtuned. In the middle the game fells rather nice, In the end the kingdom management stuff becomes a burden. The "twist" in the last dungeon should never be repeated in any interactive medium.

Battle Chef Brigade Deluxe

Everything I like about indie games.

From my steam review: Battle Chef Brigade perfectly combines everything I like about indie games. An original and intriguing gameplay loop, a distinct art style and no unnecessary baggage in form of half-baked mechanics. Where the game really comes into its own, is the ability to customize your style of playing/cooking with a variety of ability enhancements, cooking gear, ready-to-go ingredients and skill books (e.g. serve a dish which contains the same ingredient 5x). The great thing is, that almost everything you do during a cooking match can be altered and adjusted to your personal preferences, from the way you gather ingredients (satchel slots, health, mana, fighting) to how you want to deal with poison or heavily damaged food gems. Unfortunately the games party piece (in my opinion) is also the point of my, albeit rather small, criticism. Every match has a theme ingredient and and every judge has a favourite combination of food gems (only red, blue and green etc.) and your load out for one match can be completely useless in another one. The problem with this is, that during story mode you don't know what the conditions for your next match are going to be and once the match is about to start, there is no opportunity to change your load out. The results of this are either reloading the game, or creating a "neutral" load out, which is useful in every match. But as I said, it really is a minor complaint and didn't impact my fun with the game. I have yet to play the daily challenges or local coop, but they won't have any impact on my opinion of this game.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Ambitious but rubbish.

+landscape and historical accurate cities +realistic armour and weapons +underlying priniciple -everyting else, sadly -and most of all story and characters The melee combat is a complete mess. Having the same controls (moving your mouse) for choosing the direction of your attack and moving the camera simply does not work, you just end up turning away from you opponent all the time. As for the ranged combat, yes, not having a mark in the middle of the screen (where your arrow is pointing) is realisitic, but you don't get any feedback about the position of your hands in-game (obviously), so most of the time, targeting is just guessing and hoping for the best. The progression and stat system makes the whole combat system utterly useless, the game is a complete mess in every way, but especially balance wise. But the worst thing by far are the story and characters. I have never encountered such a uninteresting and boring cast of characters in any book or game i have played/read. The protagonist couldn't have less character depth if he was represented by a cardbord cut-out version of himself. The atrocious voiceacting just drives this mess deeper into the ground. There are only two games right now, which i started and deliberatly stopped playing, this and Final Fanatsy XIII, where the characters weren't just boring, they were also really annoying. A combination which is an achievement in itself. I wanted to like Kingdom Come, i really did. But the overall realisation of an awesome idea falls flat in almost every aspect and this might be even worse, than FFXIII, because i didn't have such high hopes for that game.
