I really enjoyed it at the beginning, but later it starts to drag. The constant setbacks of attacks, fires, etc makes it feel like you are just barely making progress. I gave up long before actually "winning", but I did enjoy most of the time I played. I guess the game is better with mods but I didn't use any. An expensive game should stand on its own.

This game runs rough on a modern PC. I had to turn off sound to stop it crashing all the time. Even then it crashed enough that I had to keep timely saves going. Once my character lost all his equipment. The crafting system (especially Enchanting Runes in Awakening) is horrible. That being said I only paid $5 and I played through all of Origins and Awakening and some of the DLC. I love the game when it works. The story line is interesting. The battles are fun. I wish the sound worked better because there are a lot of funny dialogs between the characters that I missed. At the $40 new game level I wouild have quit and gotten the refund. But under $10 its well worth a try

A game that could have been great dies under the weight a bad user interface and oppressive illogic. Trains sit still and don't move, for no known reason. Factory stations destroy product despite a train available to take that product. Lines lose money contantly requiring absolute optimization to turn any profit. I loved this game. I want to play it but it won't let me. All time is spent chasing problems, many of which are unsolvable. I made it about half way through the campaign and then gave up.

Once I got to the first room in the first mission that had a lot enemies I couldn't get through. They detect you easy and once detected more enemies come from the next room, I found the fight unwinnable. This is on casual difficulty too. All the while they are screaming profanites. Not fun. But I do love GOG refund policy!

I played the whole campaign and enjoyed it. About midway through the campaign I reduced the difficuty level. I didn't try the challenge maps becasue I don't like time limited success/fail objectives. After the campaign I tried a sandbox but found at that point it was boring and I had done everything already. There are some minor bug/play problem issues but nothing fatal. I do recommend it but don't expect it to thrill you for multiple play throughs.

This game is frustratingly on the edge of being good. It has a certain charm and some unique game aspects. But then, jumping puzzles. I despize jumping puzzles and they are main line quest requirements for this game. I particularly despise buggy jumping puzzle and this game has plenty. I got though the Observatory without quitting the game, barely. Then I got to the radio tower. At only 8% game completion I could see the future full of more and more stupid, time consuming, buggy, pointless jumping puzzles. So I quit.
