Great story Great characters Beautiful crisp graphics Awesome combat system An overwhelmingly terrific experience Multiple ways of fighting, and completing quests, to an insane degree. This game should be played at a good pace, because its so grand scale in its complexity and design. The world and its characters, and the effect you can have, you will have to do multiple playthroughs in order to fully experience this game, that is its beauty, that your journey is your journey, if you and your friends only played this game once, you would all likely have had very different experiences of events that transpired. I have a love hate relationship with this type of combat system, i am very new to it but i actually kinda love it, there is always something to learn whenever i fail and die, i always manage to find a better way to deal with a fight and you can combat enemies in such vastly diverse ways, from complex spell combinations stacking onto each other delivering hellfire on your enemy to ... throwing the enemy into the depths of a chasm, combat is awesome in this game.
Great looking game, nice music, some technical issues and jank im sure will be fixed with time and i played this at release. My issue with it is its repetitive nature, go to place, and its a fetch quest with a puzzle element in most cases, im sure people love to have a game all about that, but to me i just got bored after 5 hours and i felt like ive had enough, maybe il come back one day but i felt like a game with this particular style and gameplay could had been a shorter more concise game. As im reviewing this game and i have not finished it, be aware that my perspective of the game is from simply playing for 5 hours and not finishing the game, because i got bored of it. Are there more things to game such as its lore and philosophy uncovered through exploration etc? yes, but it does not make it worth for me to continue playing.
Drawing comparison to the main game which is amazing and its previous dlc the Soroboreans which was also a good one i came out of this just feeling bored and not really enjoying certain aspects such as the city building, it felt clunky and harsh and i wish i had a chance to get a better overview of what i was walking into, not to mention you gotta wait what amounts to maybe hundreds of days to finish the city. Main game + Soroboreans would be just fine for me, i didn't really enjoy this one. As previous review mentioned, yes for online coop which works cross platform you need the galaxy client, im not sure how society can survive the fact that some features requires authentication so it can work.
My headline would be: The game has poop in its pants, but they're nice pants. I feel like partaking in just holding out until the game is more polished, clearly it needs more work done to it, if we look away from the bad performances and heaps of bugs then we have an enjoyable game but to me its being overshadowed by its issues, until then i would recommend people wait before buying, i say this as someone who pre-orders based on goodwill and reputation.
Only a few hours into it, it runs pretty well https://imgur.com/a/rIH23Pf benchmarks Might run warm in beginning since it does shader compiling's in the back Gameplay itself is reminiscent of AC odyssey and every other console game, its all third person something something, in any case its a high fidelity experience with a unique presentation to itself. Im super glad this game arrived on this platform, gog once again worth the wait.
