Revenge of the Savage Planet

In-game content paywalled/login to DLC

Three stars off because you have to log into GoG if you want to access the DLC, at least that's what I encountered in this game! The game itself is just as good as those other reviews describe, the music, art direction, humour and cheeky bit about the proper pronunciation of aluminium make this game a keeper, but mandating that the user log into their account, *just* to play the DLC that they already paid for is unacceptable! UPDATE: "In-Game content locked behind "Cosmic Hoarder" Edition" <= Title from another videogame shop's forums... While writing this, I read that there is in-game content locked for those who just bought the base game, so until you purchase either the special edition or its DLC, you'll be locked out. It's too bad, as the game is a solid five-star! Unfortunately, I'm going to get a refund in spite of this game being a keeper, but paywalled in-game content is a deal-breaker for me!

Euphoria: Supreme Mechanics

The best thing about this game...

Is that it's the perfect gauge for the developer's other titles... Oh, and for those of you folks out there that can't pick up the cube, you can pick it up by using the right mouse button, then the first mouse button which you have to hold both in order to carry the blasted cube... It's the most uniquely idiotic control scheme out there, and BONUS POINTS! The second door doesn't even open after you place the cube, due to the event not triggering... So hopefully you will get this bug and it will inspire you to get a refund for this crappy, crappy game before you waste any more of your time on this mess of a first person puzzler! Sure the graphics are interesting... but that's it, it's just an interactive screen saver at this point...

Gog Users get the finger by dev

The dev does not provide modding tools for gog users, so do not buy this game as it is yet another worthless dev that excludes GoG users from modding, even though he charges us the same amount as steam users! I would not expect him to maintain parity between patch versions either. +5 stars for being an innovative little game... -3 stars for being an a****** towards people that payed to keep his lights on by withholding content while charging us the same as steam users!

UnderRail

This plays like a difficulty mod.

This is not a game that is meant to be fun for the majority of gamers, this game is meant to be survived, and as a second job reserved only for masochists and the hardcore… As it plays like it was made by modders, not developers as they are iron focused on difficulty and rebelling against what elite gamers consider casual, as this game is in no way made to be fun for all, but survived by a select few… Its idea of fun is to limit everything that makes video games fun for the majority of players, by crippling the player with an oppressive RNG as well as limiting the freedom for the player for the sake of difficulty, just as with the majority of difficulty mods… But as a game, it's too much of a chore to be fun as it was designed to limit the player at every turn, sure you have skills, and whatnot, but everything from the one-sided bartering system that deters selling, your loot, to the inventory and your money being scarce as to simulate the hardships and many unpleasantries of living in a post-apocalyptic world. Which is incredibly effective from an immersive point of view, but it turns out to be a chore as a gameplay mechanic, so if you love simulated hardships in your game, then please go out and buy this game! Well I don't buy games to survive them, I buy them to have fun, otherwise it's just work! No disrespect to those that crave consistent and permanent challenges, indeed, their role is vital for keeping a balance, so gaming doesn't turn into an interactive screen saver, but if it's ONLY for the elite, you will not have the large audience nor be as memorable to the gaming landscape, aside from a certain percentage of elite gamer, much like with mods. So buy this game if you're an elite gamer, as it was custom-made for you, but if not, then find another game as this game is not for you!

The Shattering

A game stopping bug, -2 stars

I don't know what to tell you about the story, seeing as I'll never finish it, and I'm not about to restart the game again for the second time just for a "chance" that the bug won't start... But the voicework, story from what I can scrape together from the very short time I played was going along nicely. The graphics are well done, and the overall sound design was on par with most great AA titles, it's just a shame that I won't even get to finish it either as it's a rare bug that won't trigger an event causing me to live out my days forever in a locked room! 3 stars because I was really getting into the game, and -2 stars for a rare bug that won't trigger an event, thereby stopping all progress, thank **** for GoG's refund policy!
