Nice graphics, good interface and voicing. Best of all, the situations and puzzles are often very original. Plus lots of humor. I don't know what's the deal with adventure designers and minigames. Fortunately, here they are okay. And don't wonder, twice I thought the game crashed but it just takes time to go on by purpose.
A classic adventure, with funny story and puzzles. Unfortunately, it is still one of Lucasfilm's first games and dead-ends are possible, but with careful playing and saving, it is not a big deal and I think that is kind of the only negative. Some complain about the labyrinths, but they also are not such a big deal - some only take a few clicks to get out (jungle), some have markings (pyramids). So, some minor quirks but great overall.
I also don't like action sequences in adventures. Fortunately, at last here they are rare, short and easy. I had more problems with the puzzles. Often not very intuitive and rather messy and trial and error (lever puzzle like). Also the story begins rather interesting but gets a bit over the top at the end. But: between all this, there are some good parts. In some segment I had fun and I played until the ending - something I cannot say about every adventure game I started. So, if you have no idea for an adventure game you can give this a try, but there are many better option out there (for example Lost Horizon 1, doing everything better with more interesting locations)
Great adventure with much Indy vibes, interesting places and good writing. The puzzles are mostly logical, nothing frustrating. Sometimes it is not too easy figuring out what the game wants and I only understood the logic answer when I was halfway to it, but the interface is helping: when "holding" an item and hovering over other items or areas, there is a hint whether an interaction is possible. Sometimes the game is a bit too talkative and I thought, let me play already - but you can skip every single spoken sentence, so no big deal.
And one of my favorite computer games. The setting is great, with nice atmosphere and very good puzzles in three time periods, some of them using the flow of time (trading items between timelines), being mostly logical and original. And I like the inclusion of the US founding era, the graphics and the humor.
Basically charming and funny, and the graphics kind of in the style of "Darkside Detective". But here, there are more opjects and for that the graphic is not suited, you don't recognice them well. And I didn't like the writing, too often it was "what are they talking about". Maybe it is some kind of humor but not really for me. Also, the puzzles are often not too comprehensive.
Nice graphics, good ideas and kind of a "flow". The puzzles are mostly well-thought and there is a good atmosphere. Also, the handling is good. Some puzzles are not very intuitive, but this is not a major problem. And the story gets a bit over the top and convoluted.
I heard about the infamous design, but I wanted to give the games a chance. At first, it really was enchanting, nice graphics and ideas and atmospheric exploring. But the walking control is a chore, endlessly klicking on pixels because Rosella won't find her way. And then I gave something to someone and later realized I needed to give it to someone else. And reading about the game/s this really is just one dead end of many. Use an item in a wrong way, do something out of the intended order, you name it. And in part IV, there is even a time limit. Doing everything again? No way. Of course, you can save as you like, but for this game design, one might have to save after every step. And you might say, those are old games, but also in the past they could have designed it better, game designers then were not less smart than they were later.
