One of my top 10 games

This game is PEAK!!! The boss fights were good (aside from each phase being interrupted by a cutscene but I didn't mind much). There were a lot of weapons and all of them are arguably good, a lot of variation in environments, co-op NPCs rarely got in your way which is an improvement over the first game, you've got a choice in what the protag says and this can actually influence the story, the cutscenes were all fun to watch and felt like an above average Star Trek episode if not a great Star Trek episode or movie, the dialogue as a whole was good , the soundtrack seemed competent if not a bit generic, and even on normal difficulty the game's a genuine challenge. There are also collectibles to collect which unlock secret levels. For 2003 the graphics are BUSSIN! You can also bunny hop pretty easily but I don't recommend doing it unless you've played the game before as that's a good way of getting killed by surprises. There are hacking minigames which are pretty fun unlike Bioshock and this game predates Bioshock by 4 years. The campaign is pretty lengthy in a good way to the point that I thought I had made it to the end of the story but then it hits me with a new twist and extends it at least a couple more hours (I lost track of time so that's a conservative estimate). There is also some Romance and I love it. It's good Romance. You can choose between two darlings and they're both wonderful. Complaints I've got? Well there's no "Virtual Voyager" mode like in the first game, but then again the first game didn't originally come with that mode until it was added as an expansion pack. This game mostly takes place on the Enterprise anyways and I guess due to the movie events (I didn't watch the Next Generation movies) most of the iconic staff like Riker, Data, La Forge, etc. aren't there anyways so it's all good in the hood. Also this game doesn't play nice on modern systems, had to whip out Windows XP for it, but I won't hold it against it.

Finally playing this is 2025

Been on my radar for years, but finally got round to it in 2025! I was excited to hear you could walk around the Enterprise E, which is fun, for a few minutes, before you see how empty it is. Still, it helps set the scene, and the story isn't too bad. Gameplay wise, its clearly dated, and suffers from many pitfalls of the time... The levels are a little bland and empty, graphics & gameplay a little basic, and micromanaging your own save files due to some annoying checkpoint moments can grow tedious. But if you can get past the limitations, it's a fun enough ride, for any Trek fans of that era anyway, who will enjoy seeing some familiar faces pop up, albeit, far too few of them. A modern day remaster of this could really be special, wth full TNG crew and revamped set designs. Hard to criticise an aged game too much, but also, hard to recommend to anyone who isn't a fan of the show, as that's most of the fun here.

Set Phasers for Awsome Absurdity.

An interesting inclusion in the list of Star Trek video games. Elite Force 2 is both one of the best and one of the most off-key adaptions of a product I've ever seen. Where Star Trek (at least before they made the newer series) is about understanding and exploration, Elite Force is about violent subjugation and militaristic preventative measures against any and all potential threats. You play as 'Alex Monroe' the leader of Hazard Team, which is essentially the closes you'll find to the Space Marine concept in the idyllic Trek. Once on Voyager, your team has been disbanded since the ships homecoming, and all of it's members have been delegated to cushy positions far away from the dangers that they had become so accustomed to. This being an FPS, that means that none of them are happy and are in actuality chomping at the bit for more combat. Thankfully, one Jean-Luc Picard of the Enterprise has seemingly lost his gourd and has decided to reinstate a team with the express purpose of kicking ass and taking names. Which is what you and your team proceed to do with reckless abandon. Not to mention, somewhere in between all the shooting, you're expected to pick between being with a stern Starfleet officer lady or a lewdly dressed alien babe who looks like something out of Kirks time, (not that that's an issue, of course.) It's absurd and often times feels like the result of letting a bunch of thirteen-year-olds create a Star Trek story. Though, I'd rather this type of simple irreverence over the awful Grimdark feel of modern Trek like Discovery. All that being said, this game is great fun. The shooting and level design, while not to the level of something like Unreal 1 or Quake, is genuinely great. The weapons are all memorable in both design and their ability to fulfil a specific niche in the games combat. My memory is not reliable about this one

I remember playing both of the Elite Force games way way back. I must have beaten them, and probably beat this one twice to see both endings, but oddly I rememer almost nothing about the story and most of the levels. The fact is this game aged worse than the EF1. On paper it has more weapons, and better graphics, and a story where choices sort of kind of matter, but its worse in every way. The two things I hate the most about this game is how awkward it feels to move around, and the story. The story doesn't feel coherent, its just a list of things happening culminating in you fighting two villains who had barely any set up. The Enterprise was a really bad choice for a setting, too, because Patrick Stewart's presence just makes you wonder where the rest of the crew is. If it was like the first game where you barely ever got brought into meetings with the top brass, it might have worked, but PS is in almost every story scene on the Enterprise. I kind of wish it was just the Hazard Team and Tuvok on some new vessel with a new crew. Yeah, I just didn't like it that much this time through.

Bad Sequel

If you like the first game and that's why you want to get the sequel, don't and rather play through the first part again. The flow of the game is constantly interrupted by stupid tricorder puzzles. Also, the gunplay in general doesn't feel as good as it used to.
