So I bought Two Worlds II before GOG started splitting up the way games are listed in our libraries. At the time, it was whatever version of Two Worlds II was available on the site (I assume something like the Epic Edition).

But now in my library I have it listed separately as "Two Worlds II Velvet Edition" and "Two Worlds II Castle Defense." But there is also a "Two Worlds II Epic Edition" that is still available for purchase on GOG, which includes the original game, Pirates of the Flying Fortress, and Castle Defense.

So my question is, what exactly is included in the "Velvet Edition"? Is it the base game plus the Pirates of the Flying Fortress expansion? Because I don't have that one listed separately in my library like I do with Castle Defense. I can't really check anywhere myself because there are no product pages for the games as they are listed in my library.

Thanks,
John

Aye, same problem and question here.
I can not access the store page for Two World 2 Velvet Edition any longer.
And I have no idea what that "CAstle defense" is. Is it an ad-on? A seperate game?
It is a seperate minigame that was included with the Two Worlds 2 setup and is now seperated from it.

Thank you very much for the answer!

Two Worlds II: Velvet Edition includes the standard game, Two Worlds II, and the Pirates of the Flying Fortress expansion. It is called the "Velvet Edition" because the physical release was housed in a velvet-lined box (which looked like a book) that had brass-plated corners and an engraved, metal logo on the front.

Two Worlds II: Castle Defense is a stand-alone tower defense game that features characters and events from both Two Worlds and Two Worlds II. It was released on PC and Mac as well as for iOS devices.

Two Worlds II: Epic Edition is a bundle that includes everything above; the base game, the expansion, and the spin-off game.

The reason for the confusion is due to the fact that, while GOG still sells bundled versions of games, they un-bundle them on your game shelf for reasons that I still do not understand or appreciate. They claim that it was to make it more convenient to install just part of a bundle rather than the whole thing. However, by doing so, it disables the ability to be able to pull up the store page from your game shelf. Of course, this whole un-bundling practice is still a rather new development, so maybe this issue will be addressed eventually.

TL;DR - GOG sells Two Worlds II: Epic Edition, but it is automatically split on your game shelf as Two Worlds II: Velvet Edition and Two Worlds II: Castle Defense.

I believe this is related to GOG Galaxy, and possibly to the way the auto-patching system works. For example, players can set one game from the bundle to auto-patch but disable it for another game in the bundle. But I'm not entirely sure.

I was originally going to say that Velvet Edition also included Castle Defense, but I rechecked my box and it doesn't. Interesting. I still want to get the PS3 version just for the red velvet box. I love the black velvet box for the PC version. =)

I have the velvet edition which comes with the official strategy guide for Two Worlds II, but it will not let me print the guide out. It becomes sort of useless if I can't access the information I need unless I quit the game. I would appreciate if anyone has come up with a solution for this problem.

There are PDF-readers that do not enforce the document DRM. Typically, Linux-centric programs will not. For example, I know that Evince (also available for Windows) will let you print "protected" PDFs.

This is wrong.
I had the Epic edition and I bought the Call of the Tenebrae.
Call of the Tenebrae is listed under the Velvet Edition, not under the Epic edition.
Your post is therefore, very misleading.

Did you even look at the date of the post you quoted? It was 2015 and Call of Tenebrae wasn't even released then. To necro a thread and then call the post wrong or misleading is a bit harsh don't you think?
Topics that could be combined with this:

* Two Worlds II Velvet & Epic editions - what is the difference? (March 28, 2015)
* "Is Two Worlds II Epic Edition and Two Worlds II Velvet Edition the same thing?" (November 25, 2018)
