As titled, are they they same edition but retitled? I recall clearly buying Epic Edition but recently I noticed another game in my library (Castle Defense) and Two Worlds II was changed to Velvet Edition. I double checked my order history which says Epic Edition was bought (going to the store page shows it as owned) and I even have an old installer that says Epic Edition and installs both TW2 and Castle Defense.

Did they change this around without notice?

Epic edition = Velvet edition + Castle defense.

The unbundling happened years ago.

So it is the same thing? Thanks.

Bump.

Is it possible that the old TW1 is updated by "Epic"? To start TW1 after downloading "Epic" I have to click on "Epic". Otherwise (to get TW2) I click on 'Velvet". I was able to increase the resolution too. I didn't try playing TW1 again, so I don't know if it is substantially different.

The naming of these two games can be a little confusing due to the unbundling.

The first game is called "Two worlds Epic edition" both in the store and in your game library.

The second game is called "Two worlds II: Epic edition" in the store, but in the game library it gets split into "Two worlds II Velvet edition" and "Two worlds II Castle defense".

Furthermore, "Two worlds Epic edition" is a complete package with all expansions/DLC, but "Two worlds II: Epic edition" is not (there are three DLCs that are not included).

As for your question: The bundling of the first game and its expansions/DLC into an "Epic" edition did not - as far as I know - change anything in the game itself, but there have been some minor updates since then.

Alright - I just didn't notice that my TW1 shortcut had been changed - thought it may have meant something. Thanks.
