Does your game say anything else than 1.10 and is it the Tropico 5 complete collection?

I have the same problem. Windows 10 update 1909.

Delete XAudio2_7.dll do not solve problem.

Stop crashing only when I turn off Windows Audio in Windows Services. But then I no sound :(

I wonder if the update that landed today fixes the problem....no changelog as usual!!!

Updated version is 5_1.10_(a)_(36086).

This update only changed the GOG install routine,not the program itself.Game still crashes ,even if you reinstall it.No changes to the game files with this update.

Same problem here. I can sometimes get to the character creation screen, then it crashes back to desktop. Reinstalled twice but no improvement. Driving me crazy

Won't even look at Tropico 6 until they address that issue.

Don't forget to attach a msinfo32 export and dxdiag export.

I am very disappointed on the situation that GOG still sells a broken game to its customers. As a result I am on hold with all new purchases on GOG. Just contacted Kalypso as well to tell them my "no buy" of Tropico 6 as long as the old version is not fixed.

well I fired off a message to support@kalypsomedia.com, they did responed recommending i update my graphics card drivers. I did, still did not work. the saga continues

Good on you for sending in the report. I did the same. Hopefully they'll work it out. Selling Tropico 5 while while won't run on up to date software is not classy. Not that I as a customer that bought the game a while ago am any happier.

The problem does not lie with us. It looks to be a problem between Windows 10 and Tropico 5 not wanting to play nice over the sound library when the game tries to access it .

I bought Tropico 5 long ago, and just got to installing it. Same problem, Windows 1903 crash to destop about 10 seconds after launch.
I emailed Kalypso support and contacted GoG asking for a fix.

Running in Windows 8 compatibility mode did not fix it. :(

Tropico 5 не работает из-за обновления. У всех на Windows 10. Вылетает после 10 секунд и это не исправить. GOG не реагирует на письма. Но проддолжать писать в поддержку и разработчикам support@kalypsomedia.com нужно, иначе игру похоронят, лишь бы мы купили Tropico 6.

Maybe yes... Open a ticket at support@kalypsomedia.com.

Tell them that you are unsatisfied and wont buy Tropico6 as long as 5 isn´t working.

Hopefully they will bring a patch...
