Malinthebeast: Will someone please make a smaller Arm Wrestling icon? I want to beat that **** ****** Numa at his own game but I cant do that when the arm wrestling icon takes up the full bar obscuring it from view.
avatar
mythiccat: WARNING-SPOILER...
If you buy and drink the anabolic steroids from Numa's "apprentice", you can beat him easily. With that, it's the easiest arm wrestling match in the whole game. Couldn't beat him without it myself...
Kind regards,
mythiccat
I didn't even talk to the apprentice until after I had beaten Numa, so didn't know about the Steroids. I realized that Numa was cheating by using them though and it wasn't easy beating him. Took me two tries to get him, but he can be beaten.
I'm on my third Playthrough. This time I loaded my Save files from TW1 onto a Flash drive ( TW1 Is installed in Vista ) and transferred them to Windows 7 and imported to TW2. I had some really good armor form that game atht is as good if not better ( With Enhancements ) than the Blue Stripes armor. So far haven't done any modding concerning armor nor weapons except for enhancements that are available during game play.

aecon: Your instructions were both clear and correct. I was able to change the "hunter's" (raven) armor graphic to look exactlly like the uniform. Since I am not sure whcih armors I may use in the future and it does look like there is a large number to choose from; I will just do them as needed now that I am aware as to how to make this change.

Do you think this will work in 1.3 or other future mods as well?

Again, Thank you.

Kindo: Great! You're most welcome. :)

That file is indeed changed in 1.3, but the only thing that's different - that I've spotted - is that they've added an entry for what I assume is a dummy armor used for testing (something similar happened with the gloves, in an earlier patch), so your modded def_item_armor.xml file should be perfectly compatible even if you apply the latest patch.
Good to know, when I play the next playthrough if I find an armor graphic that I like, I will be able to maintain the "Geralt Look" that I prefer. Thanks again.

Edited for grammar (your English is better than my "American")

Yeah, it's great for that. I usually want to keep the different armor models as they are, though, because I'm a fan of variation, and also to be able to see it when I find a new piece of equipment. :)
Couple of things I wonder if would be possible.

1) Autosave before combat or failing that enable save in combat. Very annoying to get sucked into the game, then get into a difficult fight and get sent back 2 hours because you've been too immersed to save and subsequently realise you aren't allowed to get immersed in the experience.

2) Shut the NPCs up. Either reduce the frequency of colour commentary by a factor of about 500,000 or switch it off entirely. Hearing "Can we go fight some monsters" 50 times in quick succession or "All shiteaters must die" 20 times every combat is pretty tacky.
Would it be too much to ask for 'Hood folded back' skin for all of Geralt's hooded armors?

Also, more importantly: How about adding a craftsman to the Kaedweni camp AFTER the Eternal Battle so I can forge the Draug Armor in Act II itself? Because by the time I have access to a craftsman in Act III it's redundant, given by then I've found the Armor of Tir Na La, Armor of Ysgith, and (craftable) Armor of Ys and Vran Armor.

That would be kewl..

But...there are currently no 3D armor models inside the game files used by Geralt which has 'Hood folded back' assets.

Currently the ones I have observed with 'Hood folded back' assets, are used for certain Blue Stripes NPC, Triss herself (witchy looking), etc... They will be incompatible with Geralt's Physique and currently I think we only have capability (from end user point of perspective) to modify armor textures (image) assets.

-Edit-

Has anyone mentioned about a request (something on the lines) for a slow motion mod for Witcher 2, currently some of the motion captured steps attached to Geralt and NPC's look really great in solo motion..like a solder walking in the dirty (and I can hear matching sound tracking playing in the background ;) ).

As of now, to use the function (somewhat) in the game is by holding the CTRL button (bringing up the radial dial); during which the game time is slowed down.

Note: Geralt's motion capture steps for attack sequences look really great, thou with some minute glitches between the steps become apparent (totally ignorable_seems like motion capture steps are at 90-100 ticks per 1 second real game time!, but definitively not 120 ticks per second by my observation_I might be wrong).

One request I've been having for a while now is a mage trousers recolor. The default green-with-yellow stripes clash with nearly all the armors in the game and I can't just stop wearing it because it's the second best pair of trousers in the game.

I'd like at least one of these color schemes
-Blue with white stripes, this would match the Blue Stripes jacket.
-A dark red/brown color with the yellow stripes retained.
-A black/gray trouser color, with the white or green stripes. This would go well with the Draug Armor, Armor of Ysgith and other late game jackets.

Thanks.

I would like to request a catseye ring or similar item that gives Geralt the catseye ability when worn....or some kind of permanent catseye ability that can be toggled on/off.
I would like to request a mod that slightly increases the maximum available number of talents. This request is actually somewhat popular amogst the witcher 2 mod users as far as I can see just making a quick google search...and was actually starting to wander if it's even possible.

The reason I would like to have this mod is because I'd like to have the possibility to fully complete an ability branch without having to sacrifice talents in a training branch.

So...corect me if I'm wrong:
Maximum level achievable 35
Talents: 1 per level => no more than 35 talents

...by doing some math.

6 abilities on Training => 12 talents to full development (2/2)
15 abilities on Swordsmanship => 30 talents to full development (2/2)
15 abilities on Alchemy => 30 talents to full development (2/2)
15 abilities on Magic => 30 talents to full development (2/2)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==>> 102 talents

Now...I'm not asking for 102 talents, that would be almost equivalent to the god mode cheat; all I'm asking (kindly) is getting those extra talents that would allow me to fully develop one branch without having to sacrifice the training brach, wich by the way...after completing the witcher 1 in hard mode one would at least expect some continuity reward, since CDPRJ had the bright idea to give players the possibility to continue part of their exprienced achievements in the previous installment, they could imho have rewarded fans by giving them the training branch basic level already activated (1/2) ... I think it would have really sattisfied players who put a little extra effort in the witcher 1. Now players that finished (and refinished for who knows how many times) the first game have to sort of reinvest talents in a stupid training area/branch...like wtf Geralt suffers from amnesia not Alzheimer's disease...anywho much appreciated if someone could figure a way to introduce extra talents. like "every half a level a talent to use pops up" mod...that would be nice, thanks
hallo all your fantastic modders
thanks for all the sovereign work you do.
cut any of you make a Save game editor like this:
http://witchervault.ign.com/View.php?view=ToolsandUtilities.Detail&id=3
just for witcher 2
would be greatly appreciated
kind regards
My only problem is that when you sell stuff, the amount of orens you get cover your inventory.

If those notifications could somehow be moved to a different part of the screen it would be splendid.

I would really love a mod that removes the "Dark Mode" effect once the Blasphemer, Oathbreaker and Kinslayer outfits are complete. The effect is annoying after a while and should only really apply when the outfits are incomplete.
