Stormclaw, you put it far to nice.

I gave up on the Inventory UI and just hope for a patch / mod.
Currently the inventory management is a big annoying waste of time.
Which is quite sad, as the rest of the game is very likeable.

Whats up with the flash background and interface anyway? Has flash become suitable for programming in high performance environments, or does its designing convenience simply outweigh its sluggishness?
I would +50 your post if I could, stormclaw. This game's UI is an abonimation: it's ugly; it's slow; it's annoying to navigate; it lacks critical information; and it lacks the style and polish of its predecessor. I would not have thought that a product of such obvious love and talent would carry such an abhorrent user interface. There's something to be said for utilitarianism, but only when it actually aids utilization.

I truly hope the devs see this thread and take it to heart. I don't intend to stop playing this game just because I finished it once, but I would love if my second time through weren't so unnecessarily painful. Maybe I'd actually use the alchemy and craft systems instead of deliberately avoiding them.
Totally agree with this thread. UI is a big problem for what I consider a great game.

It was so easy selling and buying in TW1, wth happened?
I agree with the OP's list. This game deserves a better user interface. The composition of the HUD itself isn't that bad, it's the character/inventory/alchemy/etc. screens. Item management is needlessly cumbersome (lack of sorting options, endless scrolling through lists, counterintuitive categorization of items), and the aesthetics of these screens run counter to the overall atmosphere of the game (they feel to clean and modern, too sterile).
Also, there's the mini map, which hardly provides any useful terrain information.

An option for a smaller font and smaller picture-icons in the Inventory UI might make it easier for me to see more stuff on-screen.

antihero_: The problem with fixing the UI is that it isn't something like a bunch of XML files, but Flash 8.
I know, and it's a shame. I've seen Flash used wonderfully in other products (Dead Space being foremost, with its in-game UI), but they really dropped the ball on this one, what with all the wasted potential. They should have stuck with Scaleform or something more suited to this type of UI, but even that wouldn't fix the fundamental design issues.

I wouldn't expect a refurbished UI to show up in the next patch, or even the one after that, but it's something they really need to work on. It's impossible to justify having such an awesome game with such a horrifically unfriendly UI especially after the style and polish of their first game. I mean, what the hell happened??
