Senteria: I wanted to register the game as well as I bought it yesterday. It makes me sad that I can't.

Though I have played and beaten the witcher without actually buying the game in the past, I wanted to officially own it since I also bought the witcher 2 and wanted to set a good example. Being able to officially register the game would definately make increase my karma. I know it might sound silly.

It's not totally inedit
I also had played The Witcher with the pirated version until mid chapter 3 back in 2007. Three days ago I bought both The Witcher 1 and 2 here in GoG and I feel happy. CD Projekt deserve my total support. Companies like them and Valve and Blizzard keep the PC gaming relevant.

Finished The Witcher 1 today, indeed the last half is way better.

Planning on buying Planescape: Torment to have fun until The Witcher 2 comes out.

Happy to hear that pirates do have courtesy to support the developers.. The friend i knew mostly pirate games and never want to pay a single penny for single player games. On the other hand, they will pay for multiplayer games. That's so retarded mentality.

It's a matter of respect. Most of the times pirates are hardcore gamers, who spend thousands on gaming rigs every year, yet they do not pay for the games and why is that? Because most of the times they feel the games are not worth the price.

With fair prices and kickass support, even a pirate feels compelled to pay for his entertainment.

Aye, you will invariably have some people that refuse to buy anything. I personally do pirate some games, but only games that I am unsure about and I want to test. If I find myself enjoying a game after two or three hours I go buy it. But games such as TW2 I know I'm going to enjoy, so I have had it preordered for months. Not all "pirates" are cheap bastards unwilling to pay for good games, I'm just unwilling to drop 60 bucks on shit.

On another note, I sent GOG support an email yesterday pointing out the save game market as a possible benefit of registration, I received the following response.

Yeah. I want to register my TW1 too! And not for any bonus or anything. Just that, being a registered owner is different from having a plain downloaded copy. Ask anyone who torrent their games!

Plus, pirates, imho, are those who sell physical DVD copies on the streets around the world and make dirty money from it! Their customers will never buy the legit copy after that. One that downloads a copy can always become a legit customer, if the game is worthy it! Games should have demo again and I always demo my games before I purchase those I love or delete those I hate. (not the case with TW2 though. I'm taking a leap of faith here!)

If you miss the feeling that Big Brother is watching, you can always use Steam.

The problem is, registration provides a benefit. If it did absolutely nothing then it would be a moot point - but as paying customers are we not entailed to the rights that come along with registration?

clearly not. half the people in this thread are explicitly stating that they don't care about the saved game market, they just want to be able to register for the heck of it.

regardless, it's an issue with the way those forums are set up, not with gog. If CDProjektRed contracted with GOG to release their game without using CD Keys, they should likewise set up their own forum to allow full access to such users.

I'm going to speculate that this change is what's going on right now, as the forums are offline.

gah, i really shouldn't be drawing this out, but that is the very definition of a moot point:

You are unable to do something that you are not interested in doing.

Yes and no, as I don't intend on using the feature at the moment not being able to register is not a big problem for me. But, it is still a feature that I am being denied, should I choose to use it in the future - and therein lies the problem, I AM being prohibited for using something that I should have the right to use, as a paying customer.

And lets not pretend that I'm the only person that purchased TW on GOG, I'm sure there are a multitude of people that would like to use the Save marketplace.
