Personally I still have my DOS CD (I lost my diskettes some time ago, though), so I'm not invested. ;)
I'd pay full price retail for a new version of X-wing! This is probably my fav game of all time, I still play it today. I own all the versions of the game so playing this mod wont be a problem! I'm subscribed and awaiting further news - keep up the awesome work!
I throw a question to the forum, just in case someone has the game at hand and the time to check.
Do you know of any other mission in X-Wing where the ships involved are the same or a subset of those in Y-Wing Historical Mission 6?
That is, which missions you know there are were the only kinds of ship involved are Y-wing, TIE Fighter, Lambda Shuttle, Frigate? (not necessarily all of them, but not other than those)

There isn't any, sorry. ( Source: https://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/564900-star-wars-x-wing/faqs/67706 )

Very nice! It'll be nice to have options as to how the game behaves.

Good job on the squadron markings on the cockpit, too. ;)

Observant are you!
MajorParts is to be thanked for that. He applied squadron markings to the ship exteriors. :)
Hey there - new to this forum but I've been following this project since it got picked up by a few gaming news sites, and I'm excited!

Really love the effort going into this project Azrapse - you and your team are doing great. The only thing I don't like is seeing all those other displays in the cockpit, it makes it seem more like Elite than X-Wing. Because the cockpits are 3D, do you plan on adding TrackIR support? That way people can look around the cockpits and check their six without just going to one of those stupid monitor views.

Yes. We would like to implement Track IR and some kind of VR. We will release features little by little. The first demo won't have these, but this can change.
About the extra screens, your aren't the first that expresses their dislike for them. We will have to think on another way to show messages and goals, I guess.
I hope it's okay for most that the first demo still makes use of those extra displays.

I wouldn't like to do without the displays in Cockpit. Much better positioned than in X-Wing Alliance.

I'm another fan of the displays. Much more efficient, and arguably lore- and universe-friendly way of displaying messages, and the in-flight map toggled on the right display is one of the coolest features so far, for me. :-)

You already have the option of turning the screens off, which is fair enough - not everyone would want to use them.

In the cases where the screens aren't being used, I would have thought that re-implementing the full-screen approach to the in-flight map, messages and goals is fine? The side-screens provide the immersive approach (and one that I would have thought is better for VR?), while the full-screen pages provide the nostalgic/faithful approach - people could pick either route?

Please keep the extra displays. I love them so much. At least make them an option.
Agreed with all the comments in favor of the extra displays. I am guessing that some who don't like them now will eventually come around once all the assets are more finalized and a more SW-style font replaces what the displays currently use.
