Sabin_Stargem: Would you be working with X-WingVM if the project becomes compatible with TIE Fighter?

X-Wing VM
Well, "TIE Fighter VM" is still ways off, so I have no idea.

By the way, I'm already on the XWVM team, making the music (and other stuff).

Cool. TIE Fighter is a childhood game of mine, and I never got attached to X-Wing. It looks like the time to rectify that is coming.

Off to the LucasArts sale I go. :)
So I saw all this talk about editing this into the remade 1998 version. But that version has large issues, like lacking situation based track changes during flights and destroying the balance of earlier missions, which for many makes the 1995 CD version superior. So I couldn't help but wonder why nobody mentioned getting this music into into the CD version?

Is there a way? Anyone going to modify the iMuse system to play sampled music? Or is there a way to improve on the old MIDI tracks? Can you get close to this simply by using different sound fonts? What about redoing the MIDI tracks?

Laserschwert: I guess it's only fitting to put this in here: https://soundcloud.com/laserschwert/sets/tie

I like the original MIDI-version just as much, but always wanted an "orchestral" version, so I made one myself.

Wow, thanks a ton Laserschwert, that is a real pleasure to hear your version, brings nice memory in space. Great works.

This original version of 1995 with a soundblaster AWE32 sound card was also very agreeable to hear.

Besides If anyone got the music score of the old PC game pyrotechnica, it will be fantastic to listen to it.
