they understand well enough. they are just ignoring us. I bought the game as it was before I do NOT like my games changed without my permission! when I buy them if you want changes make your own damned game! don't change mine!!!

Dunno what you think I'm denying. But I would thin that if you saw that someone who had the same complaint as you, saying that "The issue has been resolved," you would be curious about it.

that is his end quote IDIOT! not part of the body of his message!

playing this "fixed" game for a while here is what I've found:
EAX not present, despite some peoples denial it ever had EAX, it in fact did and it in fact had reverb and now it does not.
music gets stuck and mixed up. combat music plays at the same time as regular incodental music
when you use range combat you get "Stuck" and cannot walk further. why? because you do not wish to use a joy stick nor game pad. and instead find WASD /mouse far supierior but not with the noob fix!
NPC no shows(that is if you can even GET to the frist area you are to meet any NPCs!"(and I did but they do not show up in the hanger on Telos! I would also guess that throughout the game there are numerous bugs that were created via this "fix" if it ain't broke in the first place...
but now it is.

and why make those who purchase the original game the way it was have to loose the original to this attrocity. the site is called "GOG Good OLD Games, not rehash noob duct tape fest! I bought the classic, if I wanted the remake I'd BUY the remake. I bought the classic pre-aspyr version! I expect it to remain in my inventory.
in a way it being removed is a form of thievery!

To clarify, I edited each of my previous posts in this thread with a notice that this issue has been resolved as much as it is going to be resolved (in the hopes of reducing the chances that this thread is necroed a year or more from now). As mentioned in the edit to my first post in this thread, the offline installer for the original version will unfortunately remain inaccessible, but the original version is accessible again via GOG Galaxy.

Now that the original (non-Aspyr) version is accessible again (via GOG Galaxy at least), I edited one of my posts in another thread and added instructions on how to revert to the original version for anyone who isn't familiar with that Galaxy functionality: https://www.gog.com/forum/star_wars_knights_of_the_old_republic_series/patch_10b_just_landed/post17. Additionally, I added a note on PCGamingWiki explaining how to revert to the original version, both for GOG Galaxy users and Steam users.

I also listed workarounds for a few of the Aspyr version issues (unfortunately there are still outstanding issues), for people who prefer the Aspyr version: https://www.gog.com/forum/star_wars_knights_of_the_old_republic_series/patch_10b_just_landed/post9.

Indeed, it did have EAX support. Aspyr investigated the matter, concluding that it wasn't worth saving.

Heh, for unrelated reasons, the recent Aspyr remaster of Stubbs the Zombie has very similar issues (EAX & 3D audio removed, buggy music), due to the audio engine being swapped out. I'm presuming this was done for portability reasons (console, mobile phones).

yes I was already awair you can revert using the downdate. but to do that you must first be forced to use the updated apsyr version. I think it pointless you must update to downdate. Also(although only a theory on KoToR) there is registry problems that can be asscociated with doing this. GOG is not to thorough in uninstlallers on Galaxy, therefore if you downdate it can be a "mix" of update/downdate jargon in registry.(I haven't checked the entire registry) In Morrowind and Elderscrolls games this can lead to serious problems in "dirty" installations from reg entries being left in or code unedited by sloppy handlingn of downdaters/uninstallers. left over odd aspyr behaviors. Like in the game Morrowind, for example, being attacked by NPCs at random because you remove a mod for instance. As for KoToR2 since Aspyr is a "mod" by someone who is not very professional at modding, and not part fo the Community fixes nor Lucas Arts-any kid can mod doesn't make it a good one! I'd think there would be problems. also the sloppy bugs so far in Aspyr's sound music getting loop stuck in combat and the glitches of walking strait or getting one's feet stuck in certain scenes after combat I get a bad impression on amatur mods in general. I might be willing to do a tedius check of the entire registry to see where there are entries of the updated version vs the downdated version. I am no expert with the registry and this shouild not be a burdan for players of KoToR 2. my experience with galaxy is they are sloppy with uninstall and downdates, this is the first game I've been required to downdate. Gog could simply give us the option ot install the original and update it. But they want to be difficult. That would be no more server space than what is offered now.

this is not an iphone game. they need to make thier own leave computer games alone. there are enough iphone games to go around.

as for necro forums. I hope GOG reads this before it become necro and this is only a crap shoot, but I am gambler in hopes the ones in charge do read this stuff.(or not).
