Something is still unclear to me.

Can we use the full soundtrack provided by GOG to put in the game's music folder so as to hear the music ingame or do we have to use the files behind the mirrors / links posted in this thread?

I have no idea, but the mirror links in this thread work. Nobody has tested the gog.com full soundtrack.

im curious about that too!

Again, go through ALL download links posted in the thread until you find one that works. If none of them work, you are out of luck and will just have to wait for someone to upload the full soundtrack and linking it in this thread.

Thank you random stranger from the past!
I can confirm that the OP's link works, and simply copying the files indeed changes the Dream Forest (jungle)'s soundtrack. From the cave sounding part it changed to the normal and loved themes without any fiddling.
.YEAH!
This needs to be stickied! ;)

theredpikmin: This thread is kinda old, but my 2 cents.

I hate to admit it, but I am feeling a buyers remorse with this. Just knowing that this version isnt the authentic experience kind of kills the buzz for me.
If you install this fix, this IS the authentic experience for people who have grown up with the PC version. If they had used and emulated the PSX or Saturn version it would've felt off to many people (including me).

Can't make everyone happy in this case because Ubisoft simply released several versions with subtle changes. I'm just glad to *finally* have the version I'm used to with this fix. I rather like these longer "medley" versions of the music that the original game had.

I think that it still doesn't play music correctly, in level with Tarayzan it plays Dream Forest music :/

dinofan137: Hi there,
If you bought the game on GOG, you noticied something : some musics are missing. Rayman Forever is a compilation, the original game + add ons. When the game was released, there was not enough available space on the CD to put all the files, that's why some music files were "cut", and that's why there are "missing musics" in GOG's version of the game.
Fortunately, it's very simple to solve that problem. Just follow those steps :

1) Download that archive :
http://www.mediafire.com/?qxqatkzd9d04jc4
It contains the complete soundtrack of the game in an exploitable format for Dosbox. As you can see, there is the same number of files than in GOG's version but the difference is that in the original soundtrack some tracks got 2 or 3 differents musics in it : 1 audio file can contain 4 minutes of music when GOG's version of the same file contain only 1 minute 30.

2) Extract the music somewhere.

3) Copy or cut the files you just extracted.

3)Go to "Rayman Forever/Music" folder and past the files here (you can replace the previous ones)

4) Now you just have to launch the game and to appreciate the game with its original soundtrack.

I hope it will be usefull for you.
Post here if you encounter any problem during the download/installation of those musics.

Note : a lot of people are complaining about the fact that in this version the music completely loop whatever level you are playing. This is NOT a bug ; there were different versions of the game depending on the country the game was sold. Some countries had the game version where each level has it own track, and other countries had the game version where all the tracks were playing no matter on which level you actually are. Here's what wikipedia says about it :
"Most PC versions of Rayman had the music and backing SFX tracks for each world combined into one CD audio track, which was repeated throughout most levels within those worlds; including the data track, this made for a total of 20 or 25 (multi-language versions) tracks. In contrast, the PlayStation and Saturn versions contained each track as a separate CD audio track, and changed the track played depending on the sub-level and its intended atmosphere; this totalled 51 tracks."
I can't find where the folder has been located or installed.. Where is it installed on you computer?

Default is usually just: C:\GOG Games
Otherwise just go to your shortcut, right-click and choose open folder location.
Wow, I love this game. I was going insane trying to find out why in the world the sound wasn't correct. Anyway, this guide made the process so much easier. Replace the music files? That makes way too much sense! GOG has the dos box already set up, so it couldn't be easier getting it to play correctly on Win10! XD
Hi,

First thank you to provide us with this fix !

In order to legally enjoy the game with the fixed soubtrack, i've added this item in the "features" wishlist.

Can this fixed soubtrack be rebuilt with the complete soundtrack provided as extra for this game ?
Is is also true that Rayman Forever lacked the 60 Levels adon for Designer?
