Thanks you dinofan for the soundtrack ! I almost had an heart attack when i heard Skops musics instead in the very first level. Seemed GOG screwed up because i never had such a bug on my old CDROM version of Rayman For Ever...

I'm not thanking GOG, I bought that version only because i wanted to play with the musics (it's super hard to find a pc version running properly on new windows). This is not the original game i'm buying here. I hope they will verify their games better than that in the future, really disappointed...

This is just a great release, and only two points were missing to be perfect : the original musics and the opening. Thanks to have solved the first problem (musics) with that post, although i wonder if it makes the game still "legal" when altered that way. I hope so!

The opening was less important, doesn't prevent to play at all.

I would just love if GOG could mention possible alterations with original releases when appliable, would avoid bad surprises even at awesome prices :) (ex: AITD cd-version only musics)

To be fair, they said they were selling Rayman Forever and that's exactly what they sold. Unlike Alone in the Dark there was no doubt which version of Rayman we were getting, so in this case I have to say the onus is on the customer to know what they're buying rather than just assuming.

Information about the differences between Rayman and Rayman Forever is out there and readily available, and GOG didn't mislabel which one we got or hide the information in any way. I find it hard to blame them for anything here.

A bit offtopic here, but music-wise I liked the Sega Saturn version the most. The game CD contained a CDDA track with all the songs and sound bites. There are some other differences that are very subtle, like the short jingle when completing a level sounds better on the Saturn version imho.

I can share it too if you're interested (isn't this frowned upon though, for legal reasons?). Then you can compare and mix and match for yourself (it's in MP3 format though, not ogg, but it shouldn't be hard to convert).

I didn't blame gog in first place, and overall totally agree with you. Still one mention regarding the re-release differences regarding the original one (which is absolutely not dependant on GOG), would be extraordinary nice addition to help the fans if they don't know all details of the re-release.

I can't seem to get the audio file. It says it needs 2 days, then it stops.

Sorry for contradicting you but this isn't exactly Rayman Forever they are selling because they are significant differences with CD-ROM PC version of Rayman Forever. I insist on the fact that there is no issue with the musics with Rayman Forever PC version and also on the fact that their indentation is far much better than GOG's. I made myself the comparison between those 2 versions (I own the original CDROM-PC version of Rayman Forever) and there is no point saying GOG's version is the original one.

To ensure I made no mistake I also tried with Rayman Gold and Rayman Collector. The latter is Rayman Forever + new additional stages + videos, and only stands for 240 Mb. The argument some people are propounding, according to which the musics are different from the original game because of a lack of space, is false because a CDROM can store up to 700 Mb.

So why are the musics fucked up in GOG version, I have no idea. One sure thing is that their Rayman Forever version is not the original CD-ROM PC one... which is suprising because it is the only version existing. In my opinion it seems to be a weird mix-up between console and PC version of Rayman.

The game is great, though, and i do not regret to have bought it ; just to make things clearer :p

I wanted to thanks the creator of this topic and GOG for this awesome release of Rayman.

It´s one of the game I´ve always loved and one of the games I always want to replay. Some years ago, this wasn´t possible unless using Virtual PC, DosBos, or a emulated version from GBA, PSX etc. PC version is the one I love (other ones are really easier and they make the brilliant level design softer), Virtual PC was annoying and I never got to configure DosBox to play Rayman flawlessly. This is now possible thanks to GOG.

And this release wouldn´t be as great without the excellent soundtrack this game had, so this wouldn´t be complete without the help of the creator of this topic. Really thanks for making this awesome game complete!!

Perhaps this thread is too old to post on, if so, I'm sorry. Does anyone know if the soundtrack provided with the game (as a separate download) is the full version, or the slimmed down one provided in the game?

Actually... It´s the complete soundtrack!!! It´s separated into pieces too, unlike the game´s music. I think there´s even some piece of music new, bongo jam, for example, didn´t appear at all in Rayman or Rayman Designer...

Well, first you got to install the game (click on setup_rayman_forever to install it). After that go to the folder you installed it in (the default folder is something like GOG.com/Rayman Forever I believe). There you should find the music folder, among all the other files.
