sjlc: Hey things are starting to look up for Hero U, momentum is starting to build now that we're in the final week. Over 130 new backers have signed up today, and the day is not over yet.
Here's a nice essay written by another backer, talking about how Hero U is going to follow in QfG footsteps in being different from the crowd and really darn cool:

They're building their game around the premise that the actions your character takes will have a definite, persistent impact on the game world and how it responds. And that last line is especially significant when you consider that the Coles are planning an import feature for Hero-U, similar to QFG's import feature. The plan is for at least four games (and probably a fifth) in the Hero-U setting, each featuring a different character. But the "import" feature will allow the player to start each new game with all of Shawn's history from the first game in place. So, if you made an enemy in the first game, that character will still hate Shawn in the next game. If Shawn started a romance with someone in Hero-U, he'll still be involved with that person in the next game. If he killed a character, that character is still dead in the next game. And if he spared a life or helped someone, that character will still be grateful to Shawn. That's really a pretty cool feature, because the choices you make with Shawn in the first game, will still be affecting the Hero-U universe in the last one. And the same will go for the choices you make in each succeeding game. The player really gets to write his/her own story here, any way he/she wants to write it.
