feco91: I just got the Doom 1 and Doom 2 enhanced versions pop up in my library. Here's hoping the same thing will happen with Quake now.
avatar
smuggly: Yes that seems like it should be next.
Problems with that is that it took almost 2 years for Doom enhanced to show up on GOG, the Quake remaster could have a similar time frame.
Came here to say ''Happy announcement anniversary'' in a most cynical way, only to see Doom and Doom 2 Enhanced in my library and people here actually having their hopes up again. Could it be happening this time? That would make my day.
No update yet. I am starting to lose hope again.
All hope abandon ye who enter here.
If by tomorrow EOD the game is not updated, I will give up and buy it on Steam.

Berzerk2k2: The GOGDb says "Download removed: Installer, Quake: The Offering, Windows, en
Version 1.09 (gog-6), Size 1.2 GB " yet I was still able to download that version just fine some minutes ago. Would be cool to finally see that Enhanced version appear but for now I'm still sceptical that it will happen.
Also on the changelog:

Download added: Installer, Quake, Windows, en
Version 1.09 (gog-6), Size 1.2 GB

Seems like they just changed the title. Even the download URL is the same as before (quake_the_offering).

That's what I thought. This was only part of Bethesda simplifying the id Software store listings. There will be no Enhanced Edition update for GOG.

I don't quite understand why they would give us Doom and Doom 2 Enhanced but not Quake Enhanced.

Probably because they where not selling much on other stores anymore and Quake still does.

SmollestLight: As you may have noticed, Quake® Enhanced (updated and visually enhanced version of the original) is available on Steam since Aug 19th. We're in talks with the publisher and have their confirmation that the GOG version of the update is currently being finalised, and will be available on GOG.COM. We'll be sure to let you know when that happens.
GOG users who already own Quake will automatically receive the new enhanced version with a free download.
This is going to be my last message in this thread. Shame on you for lying to the community. Well done GOG for treating your customers as second class citizens.

Dissapointed.

FulVal: What about the re-release of Doom1 & 2?
Well, these have turned up here (to nobody's expectation whatsoever), so I have a faith Quake Enhanced might come sooner than later ;)

And maybe Doom 3 + RoE (nonBFG).

Nope, we have to wait more time for that...

And DooM II enhanced still not in my Orders History for some reasons...
How do you even communicate with ID Software anymore? QuakeCon is like a blackhole of event managers who don't know anything and all of their twitter accounts are just advertising bots who don't reply to anything. At this point I'm wondering if it's just an oversight because it's just a $3 dollar game that's even been open sourced, but there's just zero communication.

Hey, almost forgot! Happy anniversary of being ghosted!

Great to see the Unity Doom ports coming, though. It's a shame seeing GoG's support and comms team going the way of Steam and leaving us in the dark for so much time. Maybe we will get the update next year, maybe not.

Anyway, see you next year!

Don't! Don't reward them shifting gog customers by giving them more of your money. Besides, it'll likely be a freebie on Epic sooner rather than later.
