At least it's free after the long wait and automatically added to your account if you already owned Quake like the doom remasters.

P.S. And like the release of Doom 64 on GOG, GOG's version can pick your steam saves and add-ons.

Now everyone can see for themselves that I was right and (fancy visuals aside) Dimension of the Machine is kinda crap. ;P

feco91: Great. It's finally here!

And it crashes every time I try to start it...

Tarhiel: For me it´s working.

Hope those expansions will find it´s way here as well.
Aren't the expansions already included?

The store page says that they are.
About time (that the haters gets proven wrong). Now if only GOG will fix the their releases of DOOM I and II Enhanced...

EDIT: Just played the GOG version as works pretty well, it didn't bother me to sign into a Bethesda account unlike the Unity ports of Doom, and I was able to get a few matches going (one of which disconnected though it was likely a connection issue with the players than anything with the game itself) which played very smoothly for me despite that I was in a room with 160+ ping. Signing into my Bethesda account was no hassle from my experience and connected flawlessly.

Good to see people coming back after a year still not getting what were the original complains about.

Btw, am I the only one who cannot log into Bethesda.Net? Multiplayer is working, but it looks like anything behind the login is not available and I don't know if its a me problem or a messed up launch problem.

My bad, I meant all the other addons (Quake64, etc), those are not here.
Expansions are. If they would allow adding addons from localhost, so they would pop up in the addon menu (ease of access), that would be awesome.

I fiddled with it yesterday and couldn´t make the Quake 1.5 work with it, is it compatible?

I do not have the Quake here, but in case of Doom, you just needed to download and backup the add-ons. The download files could can be moved and used on other machines where Doom enhanced has been installed. Still it would be more convenient to have them provided by GoG ,as extra, in zip file.

So, like a lot of folks I had Quake on GOG from way back, that "The Offering" pack, and now I have the Enhanced Edition too.

But for anyone who didn't already have the original, do you still get the original as well if you were to buy it today?

Worked without any problems on my end. If you have trouble getting the extra addon stuff send me a PM and I'll help you with that.

The store page for Quake Enhanced mentions you get the original with the KEX Engine remaster, assuming newer customers will get both versions with their purchase if they haven't purchased the earlier Quake: The Offering release.

Quake GOG store page:

Get the “original” and “enhanced” Versions
Play whichever version of Quake you prefer. Ownership of Quake gives you access to Quake (1998), the fully-moddable, untouched version of the game that has been available for years, and Quake [Enhanced], the recently released version of the game with improved visuals, curated add-ons, enhanced multiplayer support, crossplay, controller support, and more.

Thanks, I had missed that somehow.

I don't blame you, it was mentioned at the bottom of the game's store description.

Nah, don't sweat it. A short internet search has showed me that I need to update my Windows version (Protocol used by Bethesda's server is not compatible with my old OS). Updating OS is on my TODO list and I already got the free addons from quaddicted and Dimensions of the past/Machine working on Quakespasm, so whatever, not that I'm on a hurry or anything to play... Quake 64 and the horde mode, I guess. Thanks anyway!
