Updating my previous post - I've managed to get into the game (on a Macbook Air) and get some auto-saves happening by changing the graphics settings and saving - then not restarting but continuing straight into the game.
When I reload the graphics need changing again - which is a total pain in the arse.
It's one step further though.
I found a pList file in preferences that seems corrupted - I can't get it to display properly.
Anyway - when I get home later I'll try the same with my better Mac.
have same problem.

the only thing that helps me, when the game starts and the loading bar is visible.
press CMD + TAB to desktop then wait a little bit, then when I go back to the game, It loads fast to the end and starts.

I'm on iMac Pro 2017

drgogor: I guess we have to wait for the next patch. ahhh

Caliban5: I've sent a service request in. I'll keep everyone informed.
Thanks!

It's weird. Yesterday I managed to set everything to low. I also did this step by step. In my case, it's changing the texture quality which causes trouble. And of course, after restarting the game everything is back on high settings.
Well i've just played a good two hours of it without problems after slowly changing all the graphics settings to low or medium. And yeah... it seems really good and worth the perseverance.
Sent an update to my support ticket noting that the Unity pList file with all the preferences appears to have all the correct settings and was accessed on exit - immediately before the exit crash which i've also sent the log for.

How long did it take you to get past the loading screen?

About a minute.

BTW - i'm using a late 2012 MacMini server with 256 SSD (though it's installed on an external 7200) 16GB and Sierra.
I've just come back home after work and got comfy to launch the game and...

... crashes on loading, like you guys are saying. Second try I get to the menu which works like games on my first crappy PC in the 90. First thing I do is try to change the graphics setting to low and then the game crashes again. I'm not expecting miracles from playing on Mac, but I still got a pretty decent model and it worked just fine with Pillars 2 just a while ago so I'm pretty sure something's off here...

I'm actually quite relieved to read that we're all having similar experiences as that makes me hope for a swift fix. Still, after reading how bugged (apparently) the game I'm considering giving it some time until it's playable.
I am out of ideas on how to fix this. Has anyone got any ideas? Also, is it petulant of me that while I do have a Windows partition on my Mac, I don't want to install the game there because it was advertised as being compatible for the Mac?

Something is seriously broken here.
Starting the game more often than not crashes the game. Sometimes alt-tabbing back and forth helps to start it.
Changing graphical settings also most of the times crashes the game, if it does not, the settings are reset to the "High"-default the next time the game is started.

What I observed is: Whenever I start the game a process called tccd starts claiming cpu-power, which is odd, as the TCC.Framework "manages the privacy database, which stores decisions the user has made about whether apps may access personal data."

I'm running (more or less...) the game on a MacBookPro late 2016.

I started the game, took a shower, came back twenty minutes later, still at loading screen.
I managed to start playing by not changing the texture quality, putting it to low just crashed my game. The game itself looks absolutely lovely and I can't wait to be able to play it smoothly.

Try to alt-tab back to the Desktop, wait until the music stops and alt-tab back to the game, it should load than.

Also, be sure to be back when the bar gets to the end. I got back when the bar was full once, and was stuck there forever.

I've been able to play lowering most of the settings. Textures is the one that freezes the game. The other ones seem safe to change, even several at a time before applying the changes. They aren't saved for the next time, though. On the other hand, changes in sound volume are saved.

I'm playing on a MBP 13" early 2015.

I'm going to be honest with you, if I have to go through this complicated sequence whenever I start the game up, then I'll just wait for the next patch or get a refund.

It didn't work. Still stuck at the 100% loading screen. I'm just going to play something else and check back in a few days.
